Sooooooooooo saw my Pdoc today .. blahblahblahblahblah ,, hes a good guy just trying help me find some peace and help me chase away the hallucinations etc ..

So I have indeed started on Fanapt ...Its for Schizophrenia ,,but we all know these meds are all crossover stuff anyway.. its a weight neutral medication ( HOORAY ) lets see how it works in real life . ( fingers crossed)

I told him Im really fed up with the whole medications nonsense ,, He understands my frustration..

The one good positive is I have lost 3 lbs since last week ..I was off risperdal for 5 days ,, so 3 lbs loss almost made me happy

Now im just sitting here after takling my first dose of Fanapt hoping and praying I dont get some kinda funky weird side effect like i got from Risperdal

We have 3 days of rain here so my fibro is in full on hell mode .. Meds arent helping so I need to just suck it up and stop my whining ..

Thanks everyone

Morethingswrong, that's great news in the weight loss front. You know when I came off my antiosychotics the 20 pounds melted away as fast as it went on. My eating habits never changed. Makes you wonder.

I hope this new med works out very well for you. Remember we are here for you. I know med changes are a tricky thing to get through.

You do sound a little brighter and more hopeful today! I hope your pain dissipates soon.
Thanks for this!

Anika (((hugs))) I am certainly happy about the weight loss .. According to my Pdoc he said Seroquel , Abilify, Zyprexa .. etc ,, ALL of those class drugs will pile on the weight ..

Ani ((( hugs))) Yeah it seems like a whiney kinda day ,, Tis the season and the weather is not helping at all

Im hopeful this medication will help .. now ill just see what side effects pop up and see if its tolerable ( crossing fingers) I just hope im able to sleep since Fanapt isnt a good one to help with Insomnia .

Thanks Ladies you always make me smile

Wow that's great. I too am wanting a med that doesn't magically transform me into a whale. I went from 118 to 170 in high school and since I have been med free due to pregnancy and choosing to breastfeed, I've lost 30lbs without trying. I am really dreading having to go back on meds.

Goth ,, I so understand how your feeling ,, This Med Fanapt is a weight neutral .. I slammed on 40 lbs from risperdal and seroquel ,,,

when you talk to your doctor ask them about finding a weight neutral medication ,, they are out there. Im hopeful this one will help me with out the side efffects of weight gain regardless of what I ate.
