Surprise Suprise

So today I did end up having to get up off the couch and get the rest of my house in order. Gonna have to have a shower and get dressed, even tho I was planning on spending the day mopeing under the covers.

I got a text this morning from an old old friend. Saying she was stopping through my town today. And she wants to come visit. She will be here for about 7 hours. Ok great!! Only I haven't seen her since I was 18. So about 14 or 15 years. She was someone I was friends with during my homeless years and me and her got in plenty of trouble. We are both alot older now and it seems our lives have drastically changed. I've spoken on the phone with her a handful of times in the last year.

I am NERVOUS!!!! I am such a domestic goody goody now. And having her in my home. I always get nervous about people in my home. Should be interesting. I hope it goes good and not akward. She will be here in an hour so I better get dressed. Ohh man I do not drink but I sure feel like having a drink right now!!!

Sounds like you're worried about disapproval or rejection? Just remember, she's a good friend who saw you through some tough times - that's usually not the sort of person who's going to be judging you. She might even be proud of your domestic charm!

Your right Ani, there us some fear there. Going from homeless to a home I am proud of is a big change. And I am a mother now. It will be neat for her to meet my kids. I think I would have been voted last person to have kids.

If she was a good friend back then, even thought you've both changed, she will probably still be a good friend and will not judge or reject you. If she's remembered you and wants to come visit you then you must be impotrant to her. Just be yourself and have fun. I'm sure that everything will be fine.

If she was friends with her while homeless, I don't know why she would judge you now. It is good that you keep in touch with people who helped you in hard times. I mean, I think she would be proud of you, too, because you turned your life around. I'm proud of you just hearing your story!

Agree with the others that the overwhelming likelihood is that you will have a very nice time! Relax and have fun!
