I hate to post another post because I feel like I"m hogging the board! I promise this will be my last post for awhile.

I am almost positive that I had my first clear hallucination last night. I was sitting on the couch and saw what looked like a man in a white shirt go into the kitchen out of the corner of my eye. Then I clearly heard stuff being moved around in the kitchen. At first I thought I had just seen one of the girls or my husband go into the kitchen. The thing is nobody ever came out. I'm telling myself I just dozed off but I know good and well I didn't.

It hasn't happened and I haven't heard any voices or anything since so I'm hoping it was a one time thing. It scared the crap out of me, though. Does seeing and hearing that mean I need an antipsychotic?

Maybe you were in that place in between being awake and sleeping. I wouldnt worry about antipsychotic unless keeps happening. Something happened similar to my sister when she lived in ct. She figured her house was haunted. Scared her too, but never happened again.

I would say, it may be that you were falling asleep, or corner of the eye thing happens a lot. I often see cats darting away just outside the field of my vision. I don't think they are hallucinations but I'm not sure.

Recnetly I also see a man in our house. He's a shadow man. He stands about the same height as my husband and the same build. He always is standing in a dark room and I'm looking right at him. It never is my husband, and it creeps me out! Because he just kind of... fades away. Sometimes I see a figure of a man peeking around the door of our bedroom, or like you say, he just walked through the door out of sight. But it isn't my husband or my kids. But those are always corner of the eye things.

I don't mind your posts. If you have questions or need help it is better to ask than keep it in, I say!

That does sound scary! Maybe it was your husband/child, and you didn't see him come out because when he left you were distracted with something else? I hope that nothing like that ever happens to you again. I mentioned in your other post that I've only had one really clear hallucination. It was a loud, angry male voice screaming "hey!". It startled me! I peeked into my roommate's room to see if she was watching TV, stepped out in the hall to see if someone was making an announcement over the intercom...never found an explanation. I never had anything that clear since and it's been 2 weeks, so I think I'm safe. Don't expect your experience to repeat itself, as it will only freak you out. Anxiety might even cause you to attribute normal perception to psychosis, just so that it can torture you more. Your hallucination could have been a one-time event. If you do have more clear psychosis, then you'll have to go on an antipsychotic, and it will suck, but you're strong and you'll find a way to adapt.

I asked my husband about it and he said the girls never came in, he never went in the kitchen and that every time he saw me I was watching TV or reading something on the computer. Sooo I don't know what happened. I've been hearing whispering and sometimes what sounds like people fighting in the other room. I can't ever understand what they're saying, though. I also see what looks like black cats running across the floor or up the walls but it's always out of the corner of my eye. I'm waiting to see what happens the rest of the week. I told my husband if it happens again I'm calling my doctor for sure!

I don't hear arguing or fighting but that black cats out of the corner of the eye is exactly what I see, and always out of the corner of my eye. They don't bother me so much.

The only auditory hallucination I ever had was my phone kept ringing (back when I was in my 20s,) when I was out of the room. I would hurry to answer it and it would not be ringing, so I would go back to the other room and it would start again. Lasted for about three hours and it was in the middle of thenight.

Becca - don't forget sleep deprivation causes hallucinations in all humans!! judging by your other posts you MIGHT be a little sleep deprived. ... and anxious like secretum said.

I hallucinated on Lithium. However, I have had some 'haunting' type things happen and they went away when I read some Bible verses and ordered them out. I wouldn't worry about it unless it continues to happen.
