Tomorrow I go up to 50 mgs. and I am a bit worried. The 25 mgs has me bordering on manic. I am using my ativan to put a lid on it. Which is O.K., but I don't want to continue doing that.
Will this go away as my dose increases?
And I should also say my depression is still kinda there. I feel like I am on the edge of 2 worlds.
I just don't want to have a full on manic episode. And I will stand on my head and spit wooden nickles if it will prevent that.

I have had manic days after increasing Lamictal doses. It went away after a couple of days. My pdoc has me waiting 1-2 weeks between each 25mg dose increase, which means there's actually enough time to get adjusted between the changes. But it's slow and that's a pain. I started it at the end of October and I'm up to 75mg and will probably have another 25mg increase tomorrow. Whee!
Thanks for this!

I take 500 mg Lamictal, as well as 500 mg of Seroquel with Clonazepam as needed...my psychiatriat just added Abilify...not sure how I am liking that. I spent yesterday feeling like a stoned zombie. Argh...why can't they just find a fix it drug without side effects????
Thanks for this!

Wow - it sounds like a crazy amount of meds- Abilify is often used as an addition to anti-depressants to help the mood swings - I can't even imagine being on both Lamictal PLUS Abilify. How well do you trust your doctor? I'd check out Drugs.com website and see how those two interact. Good luck!

I've never gone high on Lamictal uppages, but I do tend to go up to some degree with med increases in general. Then it evens out. Or settles in or something. Seem to recall reading where higher doses (not necessarily high doses) of some meds can have different effects than lower ones, even when it seems counter-intuitive. So it might go away with the increase. Are you in good contact with your Pdoc to help keep an eye on it? Anyone else who sees you day to day?

Never heard this one before. Fun visual , but I hope it proves unnecessary.

Actually I've been a bit speedy since my Lamictal went up to 300mg - not high though. My pdoc reduced the AD and didn't touch the Lamictal, which I think is good since it's working well.

I wish you the best.
Thanks for this!

I haven't had a problem with mania on Lamictal (I take 100 mg daily) but this could be because I have more of a problem with depression. The Lamictal along with Abilify and nortriptyline keep me pretty well stable, knock on wood.
Thanks for this!

Thanks everyone. I will keep an eye on it and call the doc if it gets worse. I hope it gets better with an increase.

I've been on 100 mg lamictal for 2 weeks today. I have noticed a little bit of hypomania, but, I'm hoping I will even out within the next 1-2 weeks. It has dramatically improved my depressive symptoms!

Hey, I just went up to 100! I'm hoping it will even out soon too. Here's to both of us, right?

Oh yea. The depression is mostly gone. It does the trick for that for sure.
