I had kind of an epiphany this evening...

As you know I'm down to my last few bucks, no job and have to find a place to live soon. My phone is history, my old truck gets about 10 mph...you get the picture. As a result, I've been really pitiful all week.

Tonight I went to bed about 6 pm...i'm not sure why, I guess to continue to hide. I had not been in bed for 5 minutes when the doorbell rang...I knew by the ring who is was, my 9 year old and my ex. (We have a joke where we ring the bell continuously until the other comes to the door). Well, we had a big, teary scene...my young'un was extremely worried. It kind of gave me a boot in the butt that I've been needing the past few weeks.

So, I ain't giving up...this bipolar s__t ain't gonna beat me. The stupid junk in my head is not going to win. I'm too good, too strong, and I am going to be stronger when it is over! And I'm counting on you guys to help...the next time you see me being pitiful, I am begging you to give me a swift kick...(don't look so excited, pat! On the way back!).

To close, thanks to everyone at PC for the love and support you have shown me. I could never repay what you have done.

Peace out,
DJ

I am happy for you, children have a special, unspoken, magic, they can really inspire us. I know, I have a 19yo son. I am wishing you well and continued good thoughts.
I have confidence you can get through this, just hang in there, keep the thought of your child as a personal mantra. On the way back!

Ooh, Pat's in Austin...I'm jealous. I did a bunch of stuff last week, got my vocational rehab set up, went to my new pdoc...this week I'm kind of sittin' around waiting. I really don't know what to do. I hope I can get out and look for jobs soon. I just sat around here all day didn't do much except fix some red beans and rice and read radical left-wing propaganda websites...a good day, now that I think about it!

Well, let's see...

I feel pretty good...I'm almost done with Effexor and ramping up Lamictal. My mood seems pretty stable, so I'm happy about that.

I start a Vocational Rehabilitation evaluation program that will take a week or two, mornings mainly. I'm hoping to get to go to a woodworking school in St. Louis...I know they send people there, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I have to be out of this house by Friday...looking for a place to live. I seem to be having trouble finding one that takes unemployed mental cases with no money...but I'm sure something will turn up. On the way back! I do have some people helping, like my pastor, and a person who is very tied in at the various agencies, so I'm not hopeless (or am I? lol).

So, that's pretty much the story from Springfield, Misery...I'm doing OK. Yeah, I've got a lot on my plate, but I really feel fundamentally better. All I need now is to unlearn a few bad habits and a couple of decent breaks!

I'm not good with geography and I'm not from USA. If you are accepted for the woodworking, does that mean you will be moving or is it close enough for you to travel if you stay in Springfield? Will they help you do the move and find you a place to stay in St.Louis?

I'm glad you are feeling better and I sure hope you will find a nice place to stay.

Hi, T-O,

St. Louis is about 180 miles from Springfield, so I would have to move for a few months...We'll just have to see how things work out. I would really like to go, they seem to have a fairly unusual program...it really focuses on the skills required to make a living as a craftsman, rather than teaching one how to run machines in a cabinet shop like the trade schools...but I'll do that if I need to for one reason or another. We'll just have to see how it goes, I guess. I mean, when you get down to it, I'm not positive that I'm able to hold a job anymore, so we'll just have to see. I'm gonna work as hard as I can.

Thank you for checking on me, by the way...that's really nice.
