Does anyone get aggitated frequently??? I have noticed a lot lately that I have become more and more aggitated over the littlest things..... Especially at work.... Just the voices of my co workers are driving me crazy!!!!!! I can't take it.... I want to SCREAM !!!!! I think that I read somewhere that in a manic state one can feel aggitated..... But I don't feel hypomanic or manic at all.... Just the aggitation.... Any feedback would be greatly appriciated.....

I have periods of very high agitation and I don't have to feel manic for it to happen. There are days/weeks/months where everything that everyone does just rubs me the wrong way. Sometimes it happens happens because I am depressed or stressed out. Other times it just happens and I'm not entirely sure why. If it doesn't get any better you may want to talk to someone about adjusting or changing your meds, especially since you have children at home. I know as a mom I am often guilty of taking my agitation out on my son. And while I'm never anywhere near abusive it's certainly not the type of parent I want to be. Good luck!

You are not alone in feeling this way! My agitation tolerance is close to zero. I even agitate myself!! I'm bipolar but it doesn't seem to matter which way I'm swinging -
When I do yell I hardly recognize my own voice. This is another reason why I tend to isolate, people plain piss me off.

This happens to me a lot. What works for me is going to a quiet space for a minute, or trying to put my agitation in perspective. Like if my husband's coughing is getting me going I ask myself if it is really worth getting all upset over. Usually it's not.

When I'm agitated like that, I'm usually in a mixed episode. Horrible place to be.

Aggitated, yes, and does not require a particular mood state (though if deeply depressed, it's less simply because I'm so out of it +/or don't have the energy to care). Aggitation does seem less frequent since meds, but it's certainly not gone. It's a sucky way to feel.
When feeling like that, I try (though certainly not always possible) to "self-quarantine" for my sake and every else's.

I don't usually get agitated with people (usually)- only events, technology, having something interrupt my day or thought flow... I am patient with others (not myself), but I am not patient with life itself (if that makes sense).

For example: I have to be up early sometimes for a required class. I am not mad at my classmates or the instructor or even the chair who writes the schedule; I am simply mad at having to be up so early. I rant and rage and people laugh. I then laugh and jokingly demand someone go to the break room and get me some coffee. I am still mad at having to be up so early, but not at others. I am glad those in my class have figured that out about me.

I used to be mad at people, but I then turned my anger into being mad at objects (I am not mad at other drivers, just their cars). I also have learned how to play it off or turn it into a joke. It lets off steam and everyone gets a good laugh.

I'd say I'm agitated or get easily agitated 85% o the time. :/
Sometimes, sad to say even my kids laughing agitates me. I just go in my room -I know it's so wrong to get so agitated over that!

I sometimes get aggitated at stupidity but who doesn't right? But usually I get adggitated at my symptoms. The medication helps a little but not really enough to do any reall good. I see my pdoc with in a couple of weeks and hope to either get my meds adjusted or changed.

I hope things get better for you

agitation is my middle name. in fact, going off to my first anger management group at county mental health in a half hour. ugh. my stomach is in knots. i feel like i'm going to throw up.

not on meds currently. nothing has helped.

i'm more of ultradian type bipolar II/borderline. do any of you take wellbutrin for this? does it help w/ rage issues? any other suggestions would be awesome too.

Yes, my T calls it hypomania. She says not all BP2 go up, some get really anxious and agitated. Which is what I do, except I also clean and don't sleep more than 4hrs a night and am not tired.

I haven't been offically diagnosed with BP2, just mood disorder with anxiety

Yes, yes, yes, especially lately as I am going through med changes. When I am depressed, I don't get agitated, though, so I don't know whether it is better to be weepy or agitated with every little thing. Unfortunately with my agitation, up goes my foul language, too, not a good combination around the kids.

when i had a choice, I'd always vote irritable and anxiety over depressed because at least with irritable I can take my lorazepam.

Yes, sometimes the smallest things agitate me like someone chewing food or gum or someone cloring on paper or popping bones even though i do these things myself. Oh and babies i love them always have but i cant stand to hear a baby cry, i get real nervous and agitated. When im depressed i normally only get aggitated with myself and symptoms of depression. When im manic i get agitated sometimes because i feel others are not on my level or when i get bored when im manic i getvery agitated that nothing can entertain me.

Yes, agitation lives here, too. I usually hide in my dungeon (bedroom in the basement) and avoid everyone until the tranq kicks in.

Yes I definately get aggitated over the silliest things. Sometimes I walk around the house looking for something to get pissed about. When I start feeling like that I take an Ativan..it helps a little.

I truly understand the feeling, just don't understand the why. What I do know is that when it happens I need to retreat to a private place.
