Went to see the GP yesterday. He was really helpful. I think he doesn't feel I need to be seeing a pdoc as yet, because I've pretty much worked out a combo I'm ok on. He obviously has some basic understanding of BP and can help me to a certain extent. I can usually book an appointment with him the same day or the next if things are really hard, and I can rely on him to refer me to a pdoc immediately if needed. So I'm going with that for now. I feel more comfortable. I can talk to him.

So, I told him I was stopping the lithium because I felt it hadn't helped much. He was happy for me to stay on Epitec (Generic Lamictin- 250mg /day), Wellbutrin. Gave me some Rivotril (Clonazepam), Ativan, and a Beta-Blocker. Then also Concerta 27mg. I think that'll cover all bases. He took my blood pressure which my Pdoc has never done. Checked my weight and my lungs/breathing. I know heart rate is important, especially as Concerta can increase Blood Pressure, and Beta Blockers do the opposite.
Asked me to give him a call in 2 weeks, and we'll work out if this is a script I will carry on with.
I am really happy that I phoned him on Friday, could have seen him that afternoon, or Saturday, and finally went on the Monday. Feel more comfortable knowing there is a back-up plan.
If that makes sense.

Not sure if those are too many meds though. But I guess they all have their own purpose.
Thanks for this!

I'd give it more thought. I have no business preaching but it's quite easy to love the thought of being free only to be left with nothing. I'm talking about the idea of tossing meds to the side here.

Kept on reading and it seems as though you've got something worked out. Good on you.

Thanks.
I guess I was just getting frustrated and felt my hands were tied. Like tossing meds is the only fair thing on my body
