I thought I was tired when I went to bed but evidently my brain had other ideas. I had a million or so thoughts going through my head.I lay there all night looking at the clock thinking about everything from painting the house to going on vacation. I'm worried about another manic episode. When I can't sleep for awhile thats when the voices start. It starts out as whispering that I can't quite hear and progresses from there. I talked to my pdoc and he said to take some zyprexa so I did. Heres hoping that works.

I'm going through sleepless nights right now too, with the same worries of mania. I hope the Zyprexa works for you, does it help you with sleep? When I took it, it didn't help me with sleep too much, but did work pretty good for my psychosis. Let's hope you get some sleep.

Grandma and Anika, We need to start a late-night chat! I was up from 2:00 on. Klonopin didn't do much for me. I have a call in to the pdoc. Good luck with the zyprexa.

Hope you all get some good sleep soon. It's morning here and for the 2nd night in a row my sleep has been messed up by my new meds. I have to go to work now and I'm exhausted and want to cry. Not worried about mania. That would be a relief right now.

Sometimes Zyprexa slows down my mind so I can sleep, sometimes it doesn't. My pdoc told me I should take it at the first sign I may be manic. I took one earlier today and I'll take another one before I go to bed. I don't like to take it at all because it makes me want to eat and I really don't need that. I am not tired at all in spite of zero sleep last night. I've been up since 0630 yesterday. I've washed the walls in my house and started organizing my books in alphabetical order. I have thousands (really I do ) of books. I took a break and played with my 8 month old grandson awhile. I've been productive but I'm starting to hear whispering. I'm upset because since last week I've been taking 320mg of Geodon and I was hoping that would work. I go back to my pdoc next week and I guess he'll come up with something to try.

oh man, I'm sorry. i'm going through the same thing. i haven't slept but a few hours in the last few days and it's awful. i just started lithium, just recently got diagnosed. and my doctor gave me no sleeping pills or anxiety pills, so i'm having panic attacks and not sleeping. i can't even take it anymore. it's the worst feeling...hope you're sleeping better.

Sorry to hear about the wakeful nights. I take Zyprexa too, but never had it help with those long nights without sleep. It does help with the voices and psychosis. Good luck getting though it, I understand how you feel and your not alone.

seroquel helps me to sleep.
I take a low dose (25-50mg) of the normal release (not SR) formula and it stops my thoughts from keeping me awake.
