I'm a teenager, so my therapist is reluctant to put me on medication-- though, she said she would consider Lamictal-- and I'm not sure it's the best to remain without any. I figured I'd ask you guys to see if just therapy has the potential successful or not? I have Bipolar II.

i'm not sure how things work with teenagers, maybe they don't want you to be on meds for the rest of your life if you don't need them.
for me meds are necessary - I can't handle the depressions without them.
my best advice is to tell the truth to your pdoc and T and tell them everything that they need to know. That way you get the best possible help and they can make the best decisions with regards to your treatment.
Therapy helps but is not enough on its own when the moodswings hit...

I almost can't function without meds. As far as you being a teenager and meds my daughter is 15 and she is on seroquel.. it helps..when she bothers to take it. Lamictal is a good drug too, a lot of people have success with it.

as long as you are dealing with your issues other ways...... for some people it's possible to do the natural route, I think

I agree about being honest. Don't blow your symptoms up to be more than they are but also don't leave any details out. If you think there are things your doc should know, then tell them.

At your age I would be tempted to try to go natural, but it may not be possible. Everyone is different.
