Yes you read that right. Today my T announced that she's retiring. I think she's been my T for 7 years. I cried in her office and then for the next two hours and off and on since. I really didn't expect her to do this and I really didn't expect to react this way.

It's sad when it happens, so I'll send you a few hugs and a warm fuzzy before I begin with the advice about allowing yourself the time to grieve your loss. I always feel kind of bereft, upside-down, for a while after leaving or being left. I'd imagine this is your reaction too? You need to give yourself time to feel the feelings this event brings up, and to properly grieve and ultimately make peace with this loss. You've been working together 7 years, that is a lot of commitment and shared feelings. Give yourself as much time as you need. You may need to be looking for a new T at the same time, and I know that makes it harder.

I'm so sorry this is happening, I'm sending you some more warm fuzzies.

Hugs, Buggs

I am so envious. I am yet to find a good T. Having a 7 year long relationship - a positive one - sounds like a dream. That, even if you have to grieve the loss of it afterwards. It still must have been worth it - right?

Yes, Hamster, but I don't feel like I've put much of what we've talked about into practice.
