I need help with hypersomnia. I guess it's sort of out of boredom that I try to sleep more than I should. I don't work, I'm on SSDI for bipolar disorder, and I don't have anything to do. Sleep is habitual for me. And I always go to sleep wishing I wouldn't wake up.
What are some things I could do instead of sleeping? |

What things do you like to do? read? knit? sew? quilt? paper crafts? Some other things, volunteering, taking a class at a community college or adult education classes, exercise... there are many things you could do... it is a matter of what you want to do.

When I'm depressed, I always want to sleep forever, but if I sleep over 10 hours, I feel crappy the rest of the "day". Instead of sleeping, I read forums and articles here on PsychCentral
![]() I know how impossible it can be to self-motivate. Make a list of 10 small things you can do, and might even enjoy doing, and pick one, and DO IT! Force yourself to start and the least you'll get out of it is the little bit of pride you feel from doing something with your waking life ![]() |

Don't have any ideas but just to let you know that I'm in the same boat on my days off. I only work part time (3 days a week) so my other days are empty... Hope you can find some things to do during your days.
