I personally drink caffeen all the time, but I don't think it effects me. It would be a good idea to try without it and see if your productivity is any better or worse. Sometimes the best way to find out is trial and error.

The only time I can't drink caffeine is if I am depressed because instead of being happy from the effects, I'll get anxious.

I don't think a couple caffeinated beverages a day is gonna hurt, but if you're drinking it all day long, that's no good for anybody!

The reactions vary widely from person to person. I cannot have any coffee (but can have tea) and others drink several cups a day.

I drink a lot of coffee, however it doesn't cause me anxiety, jitters, or sleeplesness, nor heartburn or other affects. But... When I am manic I stay away from the caffeine, it is a stimulant and has been proven to have adverse affects with people with bipolar. Some more than others. I'd drink more tea but herbal tea always gives me heartburn.
