Hi everyone. I was diagnosed with Bipolar Type II approx. 3 1/2 yrs ago while I was still in the military. I spent a few days in the psych ward, where they pulled me off medication that I had been put on for depression--since it was causing me to have multiple side effects and the medical doctor on my ship really didn't seem to care. I was placed on Seroquel and after a few months of intense therapy, my doctor allowed me to wean off of them (i have a real issue with being on medication for long periods of time). My therapy was increased and anytime i felt like I needed help, I was able to work through it with techniques I had learned. Since getting out of the military, I haven't been to therapy and I miss it.
I also have ADD, as well as PTSD.
This is my first time in a forum for this, so I hope to gain some help and knowledge, plus feel comfortable talking about what is going on.. some people just don't understand what I am going through.
Hugs from:

Yes, it is a good place to be. Here you can be among friends who know exactly what you're going through, and that is of inestimable value when the people you're around IRL don't understand you or your condition.

Welcome! Hope you enjoy your time here.

Welcome aboard the Psych Central express! We move pretty fast at times, but always make stops for sympathy, understanding, and companionship. We will, at times come to a complete stop for depression, but we just keep chugging along for those manics. For some reason, they prefer to hop the train while it's running. All Aboard! toot toot

Welcome to PC. I'm still pretty new here too, but I have found this to be a very supportive, caring community. The friends you will meet here can be a great help to you especially when people IRL just don't get it. None of us has the exact same story as yours, but we're all going through the same kinds of things and we can sympathize and maybe even help out a little. Welcome and enjoy your time here.

Howdy, MassonMommy. Always nice to welcome the new comers and passing on the warm welcome I received when I joined this forum.

-I have a grandson named Mason, he's 2.- (my first!)
