I can't articulate right now. This happens suddenly. Earlier I was ok. Now the words are too much for me. I am confused. I need to write a diplomatic note to a doctor about a patient, but I can't think of words.

Does anyone else get that?

Depends on who the patient is, and what he or she wants to ask the physician.

I had to tell the doctor I can't keep calling your patient who doesn't call back to schedule.

Part of my job is to try to force non-compliant people to schedule appointments that they don't want.

Oooooh, I'm so sorry. That must be terribly difficult, especially for someone who suffers from this #$@&! disorder. I would HATE to have to do this part of your job---it's got to be almost as bad as telemarketing (a job at which I lasted exactly four hours).

Is there some way you can compromise with the MD, like you'll call the patient three times over a 60- or 90-day period, and then put them on the inactive list if they don't call back? It seems ridiculous that you have to chase them like this.......they probably get really annoyed with the calls, and they dig in their heels because they feel like they're being harassed, or pushed. (I know I would, just because I'm stubborn like that.) Besides, if they want help, they know where to find it, right?

Our policy is that patients who are not doing well, we call twice over a 2 week period. We have two diabetes educators and 79 physicians that refer to them... so our policy is strict. After the second call, we inform the doctor that they didn't call back to schedule. Some doctors (this one) will then send back to "try again." Before the policy I once "chased" a guy for six months.

But, you see, if you have diabetes the doctors give a **** about you and try to force compliance on you. Don't worry, BPNurse, we have bipolar. No one will notice.

My mind cleared a bit. Feeling better now. I wish I knew what causes that.

I thought I was developing dementia when I started doing that. Now I know it's just the BP. That's not much better, though.

I believe I have read on here before that its a side effect of medications. I do it all the time to.

This is what worries me... ^^

I'm not on any medications.

Thank you all, I think it happened and went away and happened again and I'm like on a knifes edge of an episode right now.
