Interesting reading. I noted the differences between hypomanic and manic aren't extreme, but that one manic episode will bump you into the bipolar 1 category. Not sure if I agree with that, but since I was diagnosed back when it was all one big happy disorder (no ones or twos, just manic depressive with the subheading of what your current episode was), not all that sure if I care that I don't agree with it! Watching the DSM numbers rise (3, 3R, 4, 4R, 5) is making me feel old!

Thought you might want to listen to the man who is charing the DSM V's generation (also was chair of DSM IV) on the topic of overdiagnosis of mental illness related to the DSM's.....I posted it in the video section.....so am linking to that post where you can click on the actual link to the video.
