I have been looking for a lawyer to handle my SSDI case but even though they all agree I have a good chance of winning none of them will touch it because I owe too much money in back child support so I won't receive a retroactive payment and they can't get their 25%.

Just can't win in this world friends! I need to relax, drink a beer and calm my nerves because the whole thing is giving me anxiety attacks.

And they wonder why I self medicate and feel like jumping off a bridge!

God how about some F'n help here!

Please excuse me for the rant everyone. There isn't anyone else to tell, no one wants to listen to my problems. The common response of others is "It's your own fault you made your bed now sleep in it!" but what they don't seem to understand is that if I would have known 30 years ago that I have a mental disability I wouldn't be in this F'n mess!

I'm going to have a beer and I don't care who doesn't like it!

Wish i had some advice, but I don't know much about law. My sister used to tell me I'd made my bed now I have to sleep in it, when I was a depressed single mom of 2 toddlers. That was so insensitive and hurtful. Now her bipolar has developed and she's depressed with 2 toddlers. I would never say it back to her.

It's not beer o'clock yet here, but as soon as it is, i'll be having one too.
Thanks for this!

I don't know anything about law, either. But, I do know about people being insensitve jerks.

I wish I knew some advice to give you. I think money is the worst invention of mankind. It has ruined this world where once upon a time if you were hungry you planted some sees, hunted or fished, and took care of your family. Now if you're hungry you sit in your house and starve wishing you had a piece of paper to trade for food...

Contact Binder and Binder. They handled my case and did a good job.

It is possible to get disability without a lawyer. I applied online, never even spoke to anyone and got it on the first try.

Binder and Binder refused to take mine because they weren't guaranteed a win. Granted, mine was started from the Chronic Fatigue Syndrome I suffer from, but the Bipolar was in there, also. So just be aware you may have to shop around a bit.

I would agree with anneinside. If you haven't tried it yet, apply on your own and see what happens. Expect to be denied the first time around, tho, they do that to a lot of people. May bipolar sufferers are lucky, tho, and get it more easily, if the track record on here is any indication.

If applying on your own, get a good pdoc behind you to back you up.
