I've been sporadically taking vallium since november last year. A huge blow hit me the other day and I took 1 (5mg) and I felt hypomanic, cleaned the house, did laundry, made a good meal that I didn't eat lol, talked a mile a minute, laughed (The blow was so huge that I knew I was inappropriately laughing) lol. Just curious if this has happened to anyone.

This only lasted a couple hours

The first time I took Ativan (another benzo) I got really happy and giddy too. I think it was because I was in such a tense and anxious state, I couldn't help but feel amazing as I relaxed.

Hi, all. I agree with ChrisySpirals - maybe try a different med. I've been on Xanax for a little over a year now and it seems to only do what it is supposed to, which is control my anxiety. Any other benzo I've taken has made me feel "high", which I don't think is a good thing. I've tried Klonopin, Serax, and Valium. Xanax seems to be the only one of the benzos that works.
