Hi All,

Vivian Leigh's biography was on last night. She is the actress who played Scarlett O'Hara in Gone in the Wind. Anyway it was interesting to learn that she suffered from Bipolar.

<font color="#000088">This just goes to show how NO ONE is 'safe' from these disorders/diseases.... Even famous and rich people are not exempt; I speculate many suffer or have them, but they are (obviously) very good at hiding it...

The good thing for them is that they have unlimited resources to get them through it. Us 'common folk' have to deal with assistance programs and what not, so we're basically back to hoping/praying. i envy them for having the ability to access care w/out having to worry about $$$....

It's also interesting to know and see how they function and are able to function. I know it has to be a challenge for them, and just being famous/rich doesn't protect one from it. Whether you are poor or rich, famous or an average 'joe/jane', this factor is NOT considered one bit....

Thanks for the insight EJ; now I want to know who else is out there like this!!! </font>

The book, "Touched With Fire", written by Kay Redfield Jamison, discusses Bipolar and the effects it has or had on many famous artists, composers, writers, and leaders.
If you haven't read this book, you may find it interesting.
I missed seeing her biography, was it on Biography or History channel? Will it be re-broadcasted? I'll have to check my TV?cable guide.
Take care,
DE

there are tons more, but my mind has gone blank.

i don't think that having the resources to deal with it helps at all. i'm on a program where i can have any med that is available, i have a pdoc and a T. i'm still struggling. money don't buy ----. of course they can be in a pricier hospital, etc., but our minds/brains are all the same. trouble and struggling. i feel for anyone who is afflicted with what we're trying to work with.
