I know this will sound utterly ridiculous and like a total overreaction, but this morning I drank a sip of spoiled half & half and now I literally can't stop obsessing about food poisoning Fear of throwing up is 100% my achilles heel - all of my tools go straight out the window! I'm just sitting on the couch in a state of panic carefully monitoring the various micro-movements of my gut as I replay the moment of the fateful sip over and over again.

Did it come out as cottage cheese? It couldn't have been that bad if you actually drank it. One whiff of spoiled milk and you'd know. Besides milk is good for a few days past the sell-by date.

the weird thing is that this milk was brand new and the expiration date was for sometime in MAY! So I didn't sniff it or think twice until I took a big gulp of coffee that tasted like cheese - yyuuuuuck. This was from a recent order of groceries from Amazon fresh (or whatever it's called) - I guess they didn't store it properly :/

I have ativan...I don't want to take it because i have so much I wanted to get done today, but maybe I'll break...or maybe doing my chores will distract me enough. I drank it 2 hrs ago so I figure I have 2-4 more hours until i'm 'in the clear' (I hope!!!)

I think if you drank it 2 hours ago, you're probably going to be ok. Was it half and half mixed in coffee? You most likely didn't drink enough to do any harm. Your thoughts are your own worst enemy right now. It would totally gross me out to have done the same thing but like Miguel'sMom said, the best thing to do is distract yourself with something else right now like those chores you mentioned. I hope you feel better!

I know so many people who have a fear of vomiting. That must be terrible. I'm glad I don't have it as I vomit frequently which is bad enough without the extra stress of fear and panic.

As others have said, I think you are fine. If you put it in your coffee, it was so diluted and also heated which kills some germs. I hope you find a way to distract yourself from this fear.

I have a fear of vomiting, too.

I have also drank spoiled milk. YUCK.

How are you now?

My husband and I drank spoiled milk once. Other than diarrhea and some gurgling we didn't have a problem. And it was marked as still good. We took the jug back to the store and we got a gift card out of it.
