When I am under stress I usually become depressed. My brother-in-law had a stroke 10 days ago and hasn't been conscious yet. He doesn't respond to commands like squeeze my hand. He just came off the ventilator but had to be put on something like a CPAP. He has to trigger the breath but then the machine sends oxygen under pressure into his lungs. I am so worried about him especially since he has been out for so long. My sister is so lonely and needs some support. None of the rest of the family lives close either. She and Jack are very close and spend most of their time together so I don't think she has non-work friends to support her. I am going to drive there on Tuesday - it's about a 9 hour drive - and return on Sunday.

When I get back, I have appts with my pdoc and case manager on Monday, tdoc on Tuesday, ECT on Wednesday and then on Thursday I fly out to PA for two weeks to see my aunt and uncle and my father, who is in a nursing home with Alzheimer's. My aunt and uncle treat me wonderfully but it is stressful to see my dad. Travel is always stressful for me too.

You have a lot on your plate, Anne. It sounds as though you have your plans organized. Keep focused on the task at hand. Good luck with your treatment and your family visits.
