They can hover in mid-air by rapidly flapping their wings...
hummingbirds

...ever felt like this is what life is like?

they are the cutest things.....
hummingbirds

gorgeous....wonderful....

hummingbirds

...but they have to hover madly frantic

hummingbirds

...too get what they need...

but they are always beautiful...the bipolar bird...flat out or still

hummingbirds

I don't feel like a humming bird, more like a frog in a blender.

You threw this Wilco song in my head...

Hummingbird lyrics

His goal in life was to be an echo
Riding alone, town after town, toll after toll
A fixed bayonet through the great southwest to forget her

She appears in his dreams
But in his car and in his arms
A dream can mean anything
A cheap sunset on a television set can upset her
But he never could

Remember to remember me
Standing still in your past
Floating fast like a hummingbird

His goal in life was to be an echo
The type of sound that floats around and then back down
Like a feather
But in the deep chrome canyons of the loudest Manhattans
No one could hear him
Or anything

So he slept on a mountain
In a sleeping bag underneath the stars
He would lie awake and count them
And the gray fountain spray of the great Milky Way
Would never let him
Die alone

Remember to remember me
Standing still in your past
Floating fast like a hummingbird

Remember to remember me
Standing still in your past
Floating fast like a hummingbird

A hummingbird
A hummingbird
Thanks for this!

Makes a good tune, too, out of mishmash inside me.
Thank you (((((((doublemonkey))))))) for bringing my hummingbirds to me

Good comparison and I have Hummingbirds in my backyard. Saw for the 1st time last week and couldn't believe how small they are - they're beautiful. One we have are greenish.

And don't worry, Moose. I'm happy to give you a good laugh.

But seriously, between my bipolar, being depressed after illness, the illness itself, being forced back to work at threat of my job, still needing to see the doctor and not having any time off, still need another surgery but can't take time off, needing to get the baby to WIC but no time off, I'm getting sued (for something that was originally $170) but couldn't go to the court because I can't take time off, I lost so much weight my wedding ring fell off somewhere and I can't find it, not going to get a full paycheck for at least 3 months, middle son starting school, oldest son turning into a bratty pre-teen, baby becoming more demanding and fussy, too tired to do any housework or even make myself a bowl of cereal... I mean I just feel like... when does it end?

Thanks.

I once had a ring fall off because I'd lost a lot of weight. Wish that would happen again!

I should be searching for jobs and yet her I am. This place is worse than facebook!

none of that is your fault!!

it's too much for 8 people and you are taking it on...

I know I'm not helping it go away but thats not what I am for...

I'm glad I lost the weight, although I lost it because I almost died, but that ring was so incredibly important to me! It's the second important ring I lost in two months. The other was a ring my mom made me when I was a little girl. I just completely misplaced it in my house and can't find it. And it's irriplacable. And my wedding ring is also irriplacable I will never forget when my husband gave it to me and the things he said to me and I didn't even notice it falling off. I'm so mad at myself!

And it happens now, when everything else is just piled up. They say bad things happen in threes but to me they happen in tens or twenties. And I have to fix them because who else will fix them? Like that old saying goes, "When life gives you lemons it also squeezes them into your eyes and any open wounds you might have."

....

...yeah thats crap...things do not happen in threes!...you are right..

who what when how the hell did that make sense?....

...ok seriously now.

it's fairy tale to expect things to go back "exactly" like we want them to...and things get lost in the process...like we need more bad memories!

I'm out of my depth now...never been married. I understand loss...but I don't understand committment likely my biggest issue.

sorry..

hummingbirds represent joy in one native american teaching i once read, never forgot it. they make it look so effortless while they hover with little speedy wings working away... while they sip the yummy nectar... spreading mother nature's goodness and helping more lovely flowers and fruit to grow... i want that job! owl by night / hummingbird by day
