I am really having a hard time accepting my diagnosis of bipolar(amung other things). I have been struggling with things my whole life and have been diagnosed with Bulimia, Depression, Anxiety/depression disorder, OCD, and a few others. I am confused, can it be that I can have all these things wrong with me all rolled up into one?
I'm on Effexor, Prozac(altho weening off that) and seraquel and also other meds for various OTHER things that i've been diagnosed with(PCOS, pre-diabetes).
Anyone else feel overwhelmed? I don't even feel like myself anymore. I feel like I'm just a shell of who I used to be, or that I'm a bunch of people all chopped up into different time frames in my life...make sense?

Just want you to know that your not alone...I wish I had some words of wisdom for you.....Hang in there as I can totally identify with being a billion people in one person being pulled a thousand different ways and not knowing which one to fix first...Hang in there wish you the best Lynelle

Daizee! WELCOME too PC!!!
I think alot of us here are diagnosed with more then one disorder and I know how it can be so overwhelming. To me the most important thing is having a good pdoc as well as a good therapist.
Just want you too know you are not alone.

Daizee,

I'm sorry you feel so overwhelmed...it can be really tough to deal with all this.

Please try to find a pdoc who is experienced at treating bipolar disorder. It is easy to misdiagnose BP, so there are lots of folks who think they have many conditions when they just have one!

Bipolar is very treatable, but it takes the right combination of drugs and therapy to get back on track. Find a bipolar support group in your area (try the DBSA and NAMI websites--they have groups EVERYWHERE). And again, find a pdoc who knows what he\she is doing with bipolar (many don't).

Good luck, and please stay in touch...we care about how you're doing!
