Aww. I hated being sick while pregnant. And the nausea has hit huh? Sorry you have both together. They say nausea is a good sign.

Expect the nausea to hang in there for awhile. I was always sick as a dog from about 6 to 13 weeks. In the 9th week I always felt like I was going to absolutely die and usually missed a day or two of work. After the 13th week, I finally felt human again. Your doc can give you something for the nausea; I believe mine gave me phenergan. The trick was to take it before I actually got moving in the morning because as soon as I started moving, I was sick. Unfortunately, most meds for nausea will also make you really sleepy. Just keep reminding yourself it will eventually pass. I always reassured myself by remembering friends of mine who had such horrible nausea that they ended up in the hospital on IV fluids. I was never that bad. Perpective. Right?
Thanks for this!

Wow!!! Blackpup!!!! Really wow!! I'm so happy for you and your husband!!!

Everyone is right.... Enjoy. Pregnancy really is an out of this world experience. Makes having menses actually seem like a benefit. And when you feel the baby move, just the first time, but everytime, mind blowing. Goes by so fast till you get to the last month or so, then soo slooooow. Then super fast.

Sorry you are nauseated. Everyone told me to suck on mints to help and soda crackers. Mints gave me heartburn and I got sick of soda crackers very quickly. I had morning sickness my whole pregnancy the first time around. I did get meds for it and did end up in hospital a lot. But in the end it was ok. Hopefully the nausea will be over and done with quickly for you.

The first scan is exciting and scary, but once you see your baby, nothing else matters.

Wishing you the best pregnancy. And yes we will be here for you every step of the way. Take care Blackpup!!
Thanks for this!

Watch that cough. I had a "cold" during my first pregnancy that just wouldn't go away. Come to find out, the pregnancy had triggered my old childhood allergies that hadn't given me problems for ages. I didn't have a cold; I was in a state of chronic asthma. A trip to the emergency room for breathing treatments and then getting on asthma meds took care of the issue; I just had no idea what I was experiencing was actually asthma because it had been so long since I'd had any issues.

Congrats! How exciting for you! I am happy baby is doing good

Hang in there with the sick. I remember being sick every day for two months straight-never took anything, just woke up an hour early so I had time to vomit. yuck.

My friend took some meds for nausea as well-Zofran. I have actually taken it when my anxiety makes me feel like I am gonna puke. It is a FDA pregnancy cat 2 drug- which is not bad (http://depts.washington.edu/druginfo.../Pregnancy.pdf). You do need to be mindful of side effects including interactions with certain ADs, anti-psychotics, and certain seizure meds but it works good, if interested, talk to your doc about any drug interactions.http://www.drugs.com/zofran.html

Good luck, Mama.

Yay for baby!!!

Colds when pregnant are the worst. I had the most horrible cold during my last pregnancy. I had larengitis for 10 days! And the only thing I could take was Halls cough drops and plain tylenol for the fever. It was the worst cold I've had in many yeasr, it was aweful.

If it is something else that you can use an antibiotic, then that's good. It's worse to have a cold! There are safe antibiotics for pregnancy but not cold meds.
