...my illness caused me to lose my job.

Yes, I still think it was bullpoopie but the more I learn, the more I see myself and the things I did (or didn't do). I justified the bad with blame on others "out to get me". Maybe they were, maybe they werent. I had times when I'd suddenly need to revamp my routine, my processes. Make things more efficient. Andi thought things would be better but I'm starting to believe that only made me appear less reliable and effective.

I can never be sure why things went south for me there after 7 years but the more I try to tell myself it was wrong of them to fire me, the more I see that maybe they were right.

What a crappy feeling.

You have the ability to learn. You will be that much better at your next job. You will not repeat your mistakes. You will be a better colleague and a more effective worker.
Thanks for this!

I don't think any of us have jobs that are not affected. I know I have lost a lot of customers because of everything I have been going through. But it's always been that way so nothing new. Please don't be too hard on yourself.. I wish you the best of luck on your new job venture.

Who knows... maybe the job of your dreams is waiting for you.
Thanks for this!

You know, there is a reason that bipolar is listed as a disability, and it's not because we're lazy or unintelligant. It's because our illness does effect our jobs, our schooling, our relationships, and when that is happening we really are not able to stop it, but at the same time we're made to feel guilty because we can't just suck it up and stop being depressed, or paranoid, or manic....

It's just like asking a blind man to sort all the shirts on a rack by color, and then firing him because he can't. Just because he is unable to do it do to his condition doesn't make him any less of a person or any less valuable. But thanks to stigma and lack of education or understanding, we get s**t on if we even mention our disability at work, despite supposedly being "protected." It's BS.

I'm sorry you lost your job, and I hope you find a better one that better suits you soon.
