How are you with going with the crowd? Ever since I could remember I was suspicious of anything that would draw a crowd. If everybody on the band wagon I avoided it. It scares me. The fact that something appeals to so many people reeks of pandering to the lowest common denominator. That's why I don't own a TV, it just seems to all be a race to the bottom.

I've done this my whole life, it becomes almost personal, not doing things just because others do...
Hadn't thought it was indicative of anything though! Just thought I was destined for deviance, and a difficult bastard to get along with ![]()

I'm not a sheep.never was never will be, I blaize my own trail... The top indicator of wether I'll do/buy something, is how common it is. The reason? I'm a natural born rebel and take pride in my individuality

at first, crowds were just another area to be an outcast in. Later in life, they became a symbol of what I hate the most... sheeple! Well said Trippin!

I'm okay in a crowd. Blend in, disappear. But, I'm not a band wagon jumper. I never was, even as a little girl. I was the weirdo who thought the New Kids on the Block were terrible, and that hair-spraying your bangs to the ceiling made you look like an idiot...
But I don't choose something or avoid it based on popularity. I choose things based on their own merits and how it fits into my own psyche and sense of well-being. I think avoiding things solely because they are popular means that you might miss out on something worthwhile. The masses are not always wrong or maybe sometimes they just get lucky. And I am smart enough to know when something is good or when something is stupid s**t, and I trust my own judgement.

There are clubs???? Seriously I have never got an invite!! Ahh well I just do what interests me, interestingly I'm usually on my own with my interests.
You ever notice how you will be asked to justify why you don't jump on the bandwagons ( like there must be something wrong with you there) but jumping on the bandwagons usually does not need to be justified. I notice the same trend when I stick to things I believe in and stand up for them. People want an explanation for that, I think it's pretty strange. |

oh, yesterday I bid in my first auction, got this awesome huge embrodered piece of framed art, from the 70's , kinda bohemian, colorful and interesting.
My boyfriend was teasting me because he thought it was hideous. But I won the auction at a lower price than I bid, cause no else wanted this thing. ![]() |
