We all know music helps bad mood, but when we are in a bad mood we are like, bah screw my iPod!

But as I've been seeing how thoughts affect mood, Yesterday for example I was angry and I grabbed my phone and played a random song, and force myself to listen and sing along from start to finish.

And it helped and by the end I was rocking out with my - uh nvm.
But yeah it got my mind off what was troubling me!

My doctor actually suggested music for me during these times. I love music, but I find myself screaming to it, not missing a beat, and still thinking just as deeply.

I know this is super silly, but a while back I was at work and I was IMing one of my colleagues who is in another state. I said simply, "Make me laugh." And he IMMEDIATELY responded with, "Boogers." It actually worked. And for some reason, whenever I start getting into those bad thinking modes, the word "boogers" echoes through my head and no matter what, and no matter how stupid, it always makes me smirk. It may only take away those thoughts for a moment, but any time away is good, no?

I don't have an ipod but I expect it's got the old 'walkman shuffle' function? (sound pretty old....oh well)

that was something that I enjoyed....not knowing what song I would here next.

...the 'shuffle' button was made I'm sure by a uniquely moody dude!

just gotta turn it on sometimes....random works well with bp
