...it's that three story house the kids in the street tease themselves about sneaking into...the clapped out gnarly structure with vines as skin and timbers cling to the sides windows dark but the garden is beautiful enclosed in gothic wrought iron the haunted property is off limits!

welcome to my bipolar house
welcome to my bipolar house

most visitors don't make it past the gate I won't meet them on the street!

...pedantic postman is tangled in the knotty deadwood just out of reach of the mailbox and the scrawny hounds...lifeless sculpture of forgotten committments.

suffocating clouds of peeling timber dust and the front door is kicked open but the ancient hinges rusted...they hold!

...initially it's the sparks that illuminate the entrance...electrical discharges from an unmaintained power source and the entire house inhales you into the unexplored... and apart from the apparent lack of furniture there is an unmistakable element of madness in the air.

a recently laundered handkerchief is now blackened to wipe the soot from wide open eyes there is a fire raging in here to my left or is it my right?

the living room is sealed shut the door is tougher than the walls and enormous bent nails limit my movement in that direction as also the ironic foul stench of death within.

shapeless creatures only by their swiftness, otherwise intact, scurry beneath my feet there is utterly nothing I want to see here and I am millimetres from the damn kitchen it horrifies me to be amongst cullinary decrepitude.

...a glow...an almost angelic laser beam like a sapphire, hits the staircase and in an athletic leap way too sudden!...my guests stumble and unfavourable loose floorboards guide them tumbling into the only open door on the floor...down to the basement.

...black land old bricks rats with huge ticks low beams split seams rotted wood stale odours of 16 million dead insects trapped in 16 million cobwebs and one lonely and blinking light bulb!
neatly demons nested unrested discreetly untested never uninfested...
the whispers of one dead mans head one badly read mans head sadly dead...the whines of starving cats squeaky unfed rats unsun ugly mouldy mats and unfun ghostly undone tats...looped in the creaky gloom by overblack red eyed mad membrane hats vampire bats!

they need to throw up before they leave this place.

....it's a quick escape for the needy to grip the fractured risers with sweaty toes fingers white...
away from who knows lingers fright.

this entrance is foreboding where is the entrance there is no way out!

pulled if only still long enough to feel the force of the upstairs rooms... and forgotten

...in the sublime ultralight of the majestic staircase and what the hell was rotten?....
on their way the steps are like marshmallows to feet there is no street how did we meet?
...

get out of that hellhole come live upstairs....it's a huge house there's plenty of room...I lost the keys to all my rooms but this one that I am in, I will die here in this room the rest of this house is condemned it's tragic it's unlivable I locked up all these rooms along time ago because I just could not cope with whats inside them I left all the windows open and there is such a draught coming from beneath the doors....it's enough to keep me out.

but it lets the fire breathe
