The smallest sound is much too loud
And every color is way too bright
There's no relief from this new onslaught
Even in the quiet stillness of the night

For days and days you go and go
There seems to be no need to stop
Then as you teeter there on the brink
You realize you're afraid of the drop

You leap for the sun to escape the dark
But, as Icarus, your attempt is in vain
You flew too close to the sun for now
And you fall back down like the rain
