Many appointments lately. Now they call me after my mammogram Friday and want to see me Thursday at the cancer center for "more imaging".

I just went through this. Sometimes the just need more imaging because they are using different machines that show things differently from the last time you had a mammogram at that facility (of course, that only applies if you used that same facility previously). I get called back every single year for breast ultrasound because I have very cystic breasts that make what they see on mammogram hard to read, so they do an ultrasound to double check the mammogram readings.

This is the first year I went through all of the above (mammogram and ultrasound) and had to go back for a biopsy because they saw a place that needed further investigation. Even then, they told me they weren't too concerned, that they felt pretty sure what they were seeing was not a malignancy, but they were doing the CYA thing and doing the biopsy to make sure. Everything turned out just as they expected.

I would say don't get too worried just being called back for more imaging. Until you reach the point of biopsy, they are really just double checking their readings. Easy to say not to worry; harder to do. I completely realize that. But honestly, try not to get too overly worried quite yet.
Thanks for this!

I will pray that you fail every test they throw at you like Chris said, try not to get too worked up, be glad that you atleast know you have very competent docs who are checking every angle to be sure you have nothing to worry about.
Hugs from:

I'm sorry that they called you back, Moose. I have to go every six months now because of some mass that they watch. It can be very stressful and scary. When I get mine done, a doctor at the mammogram place looks at the results right away and then comes in to talk to me. I hope that the place you go will be able to provide immediate results.
Good luck, and I'm glad ken will be able to meet you afterwords.

I do not get called back, but I get some sort of write-up every year saying that my breast tissue is dense and therefore they might have missed something. I have no idea what they mean because my breasts are soft rather than dense. Maybe in your case the breast tissue is also dense and they want to take another look. I think that by scheduling it a whole week out they are saying that it is not a critical matter.

In Texas, there is actually a law about handling notifications about mammograms on women with dense breast tissue. They told me about it when this was all going on this year:
