I was just informed that my sister n law is getting a divorce after over 30 years of marriage. I'm shocked. She thought I knew because my husband knows. He may have told me but I have so many blank spots in my mind because of the ECT.
This is just terrible news for me. It makes me insecure over my own marriage. I feel my bipolar is a huge burden for my husband.
Plus he wants to retire this year and I know that's going to be a huge adjustment.
I'm used to spending anytime although I'm very frugal. We also get free First Class Airfare because of his frequent Flyer miles. Without him working in China,
All our trips to our ranch in Costa Rica we'll have to pay.
Plus we borrowed money to redo our Lake House as it was heavily damaged by an earthquake. It's still unfinished inside. There's a million things to do. I couldn't supervise any work for the past 2 years because my bipolar was so bad.
I'm just so disturbed by their decision to get a divorce. I'm probably being paranoid, but I just don't want my husband to get any ideas. I'm scared.

Should I just avoid talking about their upcoming divorce when my husband comes home?

I think you should keep communication open between your husband and you. Mention what your sister-in-law told you and wait for him to comment. If you're feeling brave, ask him if he thinks you two need counseling. Good luck. Don't live in fear.

I'll keep an open mind and see how things go when he's here from China.
I was even paranoid to have him read a novel I read as it has a divorce in it.
I think it's all in my mind.
