I have slept less than two hours in two days and I have been going like straight out like the energizer bunny- right down to fresh muffins for the kids before school this am. I have cleaned, walked, talked, cooked, shopped, done chores I have have put off for months- like Spring/Autumn ones, and have driven my boyfriend officially crazy. He is being very sweet, and he is running errands and picking up some things for dinner. Poor thing needs the space I think. I offered that he might find a place to sit and enjoy a quiet coffee while he is out... he was grateful. I know it is hard on him when I get like this, and my meds are like trying to stop a big hairy monster by stepping on his toe. Not doing it. At all. Luckily, I already have a pdoc appt tomorrow. The med changes we made two weeks ago have sent me into a spin of rapid cycles...

Good News! I got accepted into the OP DBT program my T team has been trying to get me into. It runs 8-12 months, depending on goals and progress. It is 6 hours 5 days per week and I guess pretty intensive- with a high incidence of positive outcomes. They even help you to get bus pass vouchers and to navigate SSI, etc. I want to try for the disability option that lasts a year. After that, I want to take my life back- that is my goal, at least. I am excited about the program, from what my T is telling me, and what I have been reading, it looks like a really good fit. But I am still kinda nervous...

6 hours a day for 5 days a week sounds like a real bona fide program. I think you are doing the very best thing you could do for yourself. You deserve to get the one year disability option. Good luck with this. You have an admirable goal and have a good, realistic plan to get there. Make the most of your participation in the program, as I sense you truly will do. I say that because programs that are available now, might not be 5 or 10 years from now. That happened in my community.
