Today I took my son to school and there is a new boy. I am very proud of my son because we sat at breakfast with the new boy and my son is making friends with him. He's a funny boy who talks a lot. He spent the whole 30 minutes talking about George of the Jungle and Looney Toons, then he would stand up and jump up and down for no reason.

My son, who is such a chatter box, just sat there quietly eating his toast and nodding. Haha... But I am so proud of him because he is making friends with the new kid, you know?

yeah.. it's hard to make friends. I have two girls, 9 and 11 right now. I know for them it's really hard to make new friends and they have been the new kids before at school too. I think it's awesome that he is making friends with the animated new kid lol.

my oldest was accepted in the group of 'popular' kids at her school. She decided to bow out of that group though, cuz she said that they were mean and she didn't want any part of it. that made me proud too.

Wow, that's really great of her! You and your wife have done a great job with her that she was able to do that.

My oldest is a total nerd. He loves Pokemon. If you ever need to know anything about Pokemon he can tell you... He says he wants to grow up to be a scientist. That's fine with me!

Yeah, that's true. We watch The Big Bang Theory. My son says he wants to be like Leonard, and I say it's 100% possible because my cousin is a physacist and has even made a discovery! (Which none of us know because it is unpublished.) He has lived and worked overseas. He's only 30. I think to myself "If I had known scientists were so well traveled, I would have tried harder."

I had like 50 goals when I was young, but no idea how to get there.

My youngest son is obssessed with minecraft. That is all the comes out of his mouth. I think I have now memorized all the facts about the guy who created it. He has a tough time making friends, and mostly it's because of his own ideas.

He thinks the kids his age are boring, or with the friends he has, he doesn't want to hang out with them outside of school, just cause. He acts like a little old man sometimes. Well he always has. He's 11 like your daughter Dan. He has been teaching himself how to do animation, make computer games, set up servers and what not. He is the only kid of mine I worry too much about. He's really really smart and bright, but I worry about his social life.

No doubt, I would love to have been a scientist. But with my education background, wasn't happening.

Dan that is really good that your daughter could see that, and make a wise choice.

I feel my oldest would get along with your son very well. He also loves Minecraft, it's his 2nd favorite topic after Pokemon. He also loves games and wants to develope his own game! And he's 10, so very close in age.

He also doesn't have many friends. But I think more because he's like me. He gets nervous and stuff, and awkward with people and sharing his ideas. And, maybe due to the nerdiness.

I bet they would get along, they do sound similar.

When he was 9 I think, he said he was never going to get married, he was going to adopt kids, you know... to carry his bags home from the store, and to watch his pet monkey when he's out.

That's so cute! Haha.

My oldest wants to get married, I think. My middle one does. He asked me about it a few times. First he asked me when he grows up does he marry me. So, I said, no, I'm your mommy so we can't get married. You'll marry a girl your age. So then about six months later he asked me what if none of the girls in his class wanted to marry him when they grow up. So I told him there are lots of girls his age all over the world, not just the ones at his school. It was pretty funny and cute.

My youngest will be 11 in a few weeks. God he is so much fun! He lo-o-oves Minecraft, a friend of his had a Minecraft party where all 4 boys brought laptops (no pc for me that night lol) and they all connected on the kids' house server and built new lands together. Cute little nerds, love em.

My kids' different personalities amaze me, it's a wonder to watch them. Even my naughty teenager boy. He disappeared and contacts me from a town about an hour away, not a nice town. I'm pretty sure he went to meet a girl who he met in the hospital... fun fun fun... I have no idea what conditions brought her in there, but she seems nice - I've been watching their facebook conversations. I'm trying to keep it cool so that he doesn't flip out and run away, trying to keep tabs without being the overbearing invasive mother. God this stuff is hard. Would have been so nice to have a dad for them.

Anyway, I'm totally bored beyond belief. I'm at work, can't focus worth a darn, don't want to be here. Some days I'm just "off" my game. But that means some days I'm "on".

Something funny - I took my 10 year old to the arcade and a movie on Sunday. We played so many rounds of air hockey that my whole body is sore - his was too and he's an athletic guy. Weird huh... I guess we were getting very competitive and into it haha.

DH, that is funny, what a guy! Often stuff comes out of my sons mouth, and your just left standing there thinking wth? At the back specialist with my mom when he was 3, he had an owie he wanted the dr to look at, my told him he was a back specialist, so the dr comes in, and my son tells him "well, you know I have this boo-boo.. but that's fine, you're not my kind of dr. anyways" I think my mom was so embarrassed. We call him Old Man Lazzie, well his name is lather, but ya he's like a senior citizen. He hates leaving the house, and has to know what time we will be returning before we leave, even if it something fun like the movies. He gets more upset than I do about neighbour kids playing on our lawn or near my garden.

Your son too Blue, Minecraft is pretty cool! I bought him a minecraft hoodie with a creeper on the front of it, when I was in SF. He lost it already. Sounds like all three of our sons would get along. Yes, being a mom is really hard sometimes. Tho in my case I think mine are better off with their fathers absenteeism. My bf is a pretty good step dad, but since we live apart most of it rides on my shoulders.

I am bored too, I should being making the top for my costume, but it is corset style, the boning I was taking out of something else to use for it turned out to be metal, not plastic, so break time . No wire cutters lying around. All my clothes are in the dryer, so I can't leave the house till I have something to wear, well I could but I don't want to get arrested, and it's raining outside.

Hehe funny, that must have been some enthusiastic air hockey!!

Yeah, Blue, that would be hard. Try to keep watch without being too much. Teens are hard. I'm not looking forward to that.... especially with my 6 year old. He already likes to argue so much. I say he will be a lawyer or a politician. He likes to argue, and always has a "reason" why he can't do something.

My oldest one he is timid. You just have to get a little mad and he's like tail between the legs.

The baby has a temper... When he's mad he screams and throws himself backwards already. But he's also a lover. He likes to be cuddled and give kissies. But he's a tough guy, tooo. He likes to be thrown around. Haha.

Minecraft... you know, I think of it like digital Legos. Everything is square, and you can build whatever you want.

And then, that air hockey, I bet you were using muscles you normally don't!

It is like legos, I agree, I had to make a minecraft b-day cake for him last year. It went pretty easily since everything is cubes.

yeah, the cube thing makes making stuff for it pretty easy. I like it too but I can't concentrate on it for long.

my oldest is obsessed with World of Warcraft, texting and Skype. They are her main ways of communicating with a whole list of friends around the U.S.

My boys like that Wizard 101 or whatever it's called. They play it sometimes but not often. My oldest likes it more.

I don't see him getting a phone soon, either. He has his DS so that's enough for him for now.

my kids got me watching this show with them. It's called H20... it's about mermaids. Makes me think of James cuz it's based in Australia. I wonder if he watches it. I wonder if he's okay.
