...did you know that if a cheetah runs at it's top speed for about 2 and a half minutes or so...it can die!
it just overheats or something just blows up! it overwhelms itself!
...and it can run easily over 60mph but thats not the point...

wow!...full on that it can kill itself!.... so it can go from this...
freaky facts...
going pretty good here...lookin' cool whats for tea tonite?

to this...
freaky facts...
oops!!...oh dear my dinner got away and I forgot the time? darn it!

...so anyway I was thinkin'...(yikes)... there is no animal who can run faster than the cheetah, so nothin' out there is stoopid enough to chase it!... so the only time cheetah dude is running that fast is to catch some food...so this animal can actually kill itself while it's trying to stay alive!

then I thought wow! ...my depression is a form of "starvation"...

and...

the mania I experience is my brain running at top speed to chase down an emotional feed.

...and I'm lucky to make it past 2 and a half weeks like that!

so I'm also an animal that can kill itself trying to stay alive. Thats my freaky bipolar fact for today.
Thanks for this!

Very cool, double monkey!

I think if we went without sleep from the mania, we'd die too.

Actually that's really a good one James. I bet this is true for all life, has ability to kill itself while trying to stay a live. I wonder what this would look like for bacteria? I am gonna go look, too curious. So if bipolar does this effect, where else are we doing it too?

I love this analogy!

yeah it sure opens up infinite possibilities Anika, I expect a full report on the bacteria...my brain wants to search and it hurts! hehe... and thanks too
it's peculiar I went to the supermarket this morning but I was too early and sat for a while watching people and I was trying to guess what pills everybody was on? by their faces and general demeanor cos I figured everybody is taking something to keep them alive...

and then there were about fifty people all hanging around the big doors really anxious to get in and shop or 'graze'...I sat back and waited for the impending stampede to pass...and it was such a mellow morning, but the desperation was evident.

you are so right...it's a way, or it's the way of life to die somehow in the process...
Thanks for this!

"Scientists in Singapore are designing "suicide bomber" bacteria that kill a harmful microbe called pseudomonas aeruginosa. Those bacteria, which commonly infect hospital patients with compromised immune systems, target tissue and can cause fatal infections."....

The scientists used the common lab bacterium Escherichia coli, which destroys itself in the process of eliminating the threat. Crazy!
Ok that was a real quick search and it is synthetic genes that humans added to the bacteria. Still interesting. I was gonna type out how it works, but I'll stop myself from doing that geeky thing I do.

People are so weird to watch James, haha what med are they on guessing game.. so funny. And then sad, and kinda true. Don't you think it's so weird when you see people grouping like that? When there is a traffic jam, if people left x number of space between them and the vehicle in front of them the traffic jam could clear in minutes. Funny how that works. I think it's called the three phase traffic theory, a little more complicated than spacing but not really. If all 50 people try going through a small door at once would it not jam and take longer to flow through?

It's good when you can hold back in mellow, and not be in the desperation. When it is theirs and not yours.

I think that the workaholic does that to himself/herself. There's no end to the need to work, work, work. It's exhausting to those who must be around it, as well. I think they probably are really killing themselves or at least cutting their life span short.

Agree with everyone on this. Great post, Dubble Monkey.

Thanks.

wow!! that sounds exciting!
"suicide bomber bacteria" just the terminology evokes incredible images.
I had a look too and it said.."suicide bacteria kills itself to destroy threats"....
so it's like the "host" that has the threats on board is also the likely host for the e-coli bug but the host is in danger and compromising the e-coli's life as well so...
the e-coli bug wipes out whats threatening it's own home but carks it in the process...so it's got somewhere to live now but oops it's dead!

wow!...have I got it right?

hey doesn't cancer sort of do the same thing? ...it moves into a body and so it can survive it ends up killing the body and then it's got nowhere to live either!

I don't think geeky is a bad thing Anika..if thats what it is...it's very cool to learn new stuff yep...thanks for looking it up.

hey no worries gen...

...so yeah thats another area alltogether...the "aholic" phenomenon. ..it's like the deepest psychological perception and conviction that all levels of survival rely on the superabundance of one or more things and it makes a victim out of the hapless indulger...

Sorry james I went back and added some this and that, haha . You know how that goes..

They added the target bacterias ability to communicate and detect it's own species to the e.coli. Then they also gave the e.coli the ability to release the same but tweaked up bacterial toxins that the target bacteria releases. So they put the e.coli in the host, the e.coli detects the target bacteria, communicates to each other and send out the tweaked toxins to kill the target, but it also fills with the toxins and kills itself. And the Host will be free from both. make sense ? I think that is the jist..

Different than cancer, because the host will be free.

yep...it is sad about the pills people are on, and it occurred to me briefly cos as I was sitting there I thought..."oh crap!...I'm on pills too"....I suddenly felt sorry for the whole world and didn't want to contribute to the madness anymore... hmmm deep!

the study of human crowd behaviour is quite interesting...dpending what mood you're in of course

...they have some of the worst traffic jams in Britain...on their freeways they can be up to 30 miles long I think...and it all starts with one person!
...someones not paying attention and they suddenly hit the brakes so they don't rear end the vehicle in front...then it sets off a chain reaction the person behind just taps the brakes and then it just goes on for miles until everyone is stopped still. like perpetual motion of no motion. so to avoid an accident and get home alive the motorist dies of boredom in the traffic.
Thanks for this!

Physics.. So glad I don't drive. Never wanna die cause of motion of no motion. Don't want that on my tomb stone. Anika.. died getting nowhere fast.

I don't want to contribute to the madness either, and then I accidentally do somehow. Happens all the time, and when I catch it.. oh crap is right. But nothing you can always do about it. I hate slave labor and sweat shops, then I am too poor and gotta buy something at walmart. Or I want to let go of my ego, and then my ego comes knocking and I answer the door before I look through the peep hole.
