We have all seen awareness ribbons and the most well known one is pink which is awareness for breast cancer. I started searching to find what (if any) awareness color was for mental illness. Here's what I found after searching many websites:

Ribbon Awareness Colors

Gray/Silver
Mental Illness (alternative color is green)

Green
Bipolar
Depression
Childhood Depression
Manic Depression

Orange
Self Injury

I've seen those, although I wouldn't know where to get one.

There's even a Bipolar Awareness week in February, can't remember exactly which week though. Heck, I wish mental illness had its own month, like breast cancer awareness---Lord knows there are more people like us than people with breast cancer, even though that too is a worthy cause and deserves the publicity it gets.

Think grey is for MI in general, and Green is for us. I wear my orange during self-injury week, so gonna get me a green ribbon too.

I know right. We'll just have to add some bling to our ribbons. LOL.

I'm looking into getting both MI and BP ribbons. Glad you support self-harm.

I had no idea!

I did just see a commercial on CBS with NCIS actor Mark Harmon (swoon) about bipolar disorder awareness. It made me happy to see it.

LOL. Very good point. I've just ran into that situation. I'm going to a support group to and will ask around.

I can't watch this, but I also saw a bipolar awareness comercial on CBS not to long ago during The Big Bang Theory.

I had looked up the ribbons before but forgot.

I think that silver is an awesome color (rather than gray.) A ribbon made with a silver ribbon and a green ribbon would be beautiful, awareness of both!

Orange is a nice bright color. I need to get some ribbons to wear.

Oct 4th was bipolar awarness day.

Why not try a shop that sells sewing goods, like zips and material and so forth? Thats where I get mine coz they sell ribbons in rolls. All I need to do is cut it, and pin to my top
Thanks for this!
