Tomorrow I start volunteering as a Youth Worker for the local church. I am petrified. I haven't worked since 2011. I think I will take a Serequol to lower my anxieties which will be very hightened. It's only 2 hours every week and it is only a Friday night I will be working there.

I haven't volunteered for about 3-4 years so this is not a new thing for me but definately a new thing for me now I don't have a job

I bet you'll do great! It's normal to be nervous when starting something new.

Good luck, Miss Laura! Echoing dark_heart, it's so normal to feel nervous, so I won't tell you not to , but I'm quite sure you will do just fine.
( It's good to see you, btw, it's been awhile.)

Thank you Inner.... I know its been a while!!

Tonight was good.... they were mental. There was only about 20 kids there all aged 12-13 years old. They have a pool table, table tennis table, arts table and then they could go to the community centre which is just at the foot of the road to play sports mainly football. There were only 7 volunteers and the manager. 2 volunteers were also called Laura lol! I think I was the 2nd oldest to volunteer lol! Next week we are going ice skating. I can't skate but it should be fun. I was teaching some of them how to play pool... 1 girl was unsure and told me she wasn't good at it so I said come and show me how to play and she was good at playing pool.

Its dead different from my volunteering with children and young people additional needs. We were more structured so its weird having "free time" Its far too cold and dark here to be wandering the streets so there should be more in the following weeks coming to the group
