Hey everybody!
My exam results were out several days ago. I got the highest marks among my grade. Finally after two years I was able to do it again. But the annoying thing is that I am not happy about it. I really wish I can know why do I have this apprehensive feeling. I have to be proud that I am a bipolar and was able to do stuff normal people aren't able to do.
We were recommended to write some articles during my english and arabic classes. I did them really well ,but I still had that feeling of fear. I keep wondering what exactly do I fear of..

I'm so glad your exams went well! That's great!

As for your apprehension, it is hard to say what that might be. Only you know your life. Maybe you have low laying anxiety. I have generalized anxiety disorder which means I just often get anxious and apprehensive over little things often for no reason. I just have this nervousness. I worry a lot. Sometimes there isn't an answer for me.

I've noticed that those with MI tend to be very smart. It's almost as if in order to be as smart as we are our brains are wired differently and as a side effect, we have our issues.

I'm BPII and have an IQ in the mid 140's
My brother's is in the 160's (He's so far from normal its not funny)
I have a family member who is also BPII and her IQ is just as high as mine.
My ex wife is displaying symptoms of schizophrenia and she is by far smarter than me...
I knew a chief in the Navy... he was a Nuclear Engineer. He has asperger's. On the boat he was great. He just locked himself in with his reactor. On shore, he was always in trouble. The guy has two PhD's!!!

You rock'd your tests! Be happy!! Easier said than done, I know.
Thanks for this!

I agree with this. Mental illness doesn't mean we're broken. It just means we have issues in certain areas.

I also agree we're all very intelligant. I however, have a decline in my cognition for some reason, so I don't know if I'm as smart as I once was. I had a perfect memory, I was writing at college level when I was 10 years old, and I pick up science and technology and music as if they are part of my brain function. (Math is another story....) But, now I don't function at the same level as I did anymore.

I get the same issue at times, but I just get them for a certain time then I get to my normal state again.

How are you in other areas of your life? Do you accept compliments with grace or do you get embarrassed by them? If you work in a team, do you take credit for your portion of an assignment?

Another thing that can be happening is that you do not believe your good luck and do not think that your achievements are here to stay; you are apprehensive of a negative turn of events.

I accept compliments with grace and if I work in a team, I don't take credits for what I did I guess.

Actually I am that kind of hopeful people. But this time there was something different. I just had the fear that maybe if I wasn't able to get the same results for the next exam I will be depressed and I won't be able to get high grades for the rest of the year.

Don't engage in this kind of thinking because it can turn into a self-fulfilling prophecy. Trust your abilities, perseverance, and luck.
