So, I'm feeling really, really happy for once in my life.

My doctor found a new medication for me awhile ago and so we slowly took me off Lithium. For me, it stopped working. I didn't notice a difference with or without it. It used to be the miracle drug for me, but not anymore.

It was really hindering too. It made me really, really thirsty all the time.

So, I'm really happy to be off it.

But I do have a question.

I know it's been built up in my system for years, ever since I was like, six years old I've been taking this.

So how long until I notice a difference in drinking a lot and side affects?

Does anyone know who has come off a medication before?

It depends and cannot be predicted with precision. I would wait for a month and if you are still super thirsty, talk to the p-doc. Hopefully, you won't be. Don't forget to drink though when you are not so thirsty anymore, because it is important for your overall wellbeing, more than anything else.

Thanks all for your well wishes. I'm very happy to be off it. I actually feel like I can be feel normal again. I was tired of people always making comments about how much I drank.

And hamster, thanks. I will wait the month and see if it works. I'm still drinking a lot, but I can't tell if its due to thirst or just out of habit.

I am on Lithium. Altho it makes people thirsty. For me it wasn't an issue because I already was already drinking tons of water. Also drinking a lot of fluid flushes toxins out of your system, and helps curb your appetite.

Hope your symptoms subside quickly

I could not agree more! My medication causes dry mouth so I drink tons of water.

I hope you feel back to normal soon!
