Does anyone know how many calories a 16 year old girl should take in a day? I am about 5'2 and I only weigh about 96 pounds. I read that an average teenager girl should take in like 1800 - 2400 calories a day. But I'm also hypoglycemic , should this make me consume more calories or the same as other people?

I would talk to a nutritionist. They can help point you in planning meal plans around your needs.

You could talk to your GP and have them suggest someone.

You will want to speak to a registered dietitian but be aware that it's usually something you need to opay out of pocket. Your primary care doctor will probably have suggestions for you.

log onto livestrong.com and go to my plate and input your age and height and the goal to maintain the current weight and it would output the # of calories

do not think that hypoglycemia changes the caloric needs, but you need to eat frequently which is what you are planning to do
Thanks for this!

Yes eat frequently but don't need more calories. my nutristionist told me to eat things with some natural sugar in them throughout the day, like an orange or other fruit, and to avoid eating a lot of refined sugery things. I have the same problem. I wonder what has caused this with you tho. Do you get enough calories a day normally?

I don't know why. I eat wayyyyy too much. My family has always told me that my stomach is like a bottom-less pit. I can eat more than everyone in my family put together. (that's five people).
Although lately I haven't been eating that much. Lately whenever I try to eat, I'll take a couple bites and be full or feel sick. Idk what's up with that. because I 've never been like this before.
My mom made fun of me last night cause I split a six inch hoagie with my friend, so really i only ate a 3 inch hoagie, & i had to force myself to finish that.. and my mom said she was surprised because usually I eat a 12 in hoagie and would still want something else to eat.
