1) psych: Prozac. Why is it good? a) a little goes a long way - I am on 10 mg and it is enough b) everything it does is good c) there are no side effects

2) non-psych: Tazorac cream. Why is it good? It makes the skin especially good, reversing some sun damage and preventing breakouts. No side effects, either. The only bad thing about it: the price. But again a little goes a long way.
Thanks for this!

Hamster thanks on getting on me about Tazorac. You're the best!!! Skin is awesome now. I've never tried Prozac. Not sure why. I've been on many others. Wellbutrin and Lamictal best so far at this point. Not sure why Prozac never came up ever for me

Zyprexa, for sure! Unfortunately, it looks like I'm going to have to switch to something else because it's thrown my diabetes out of control and my blood sugars are stratospheric, even on medication. It sucks---now I can't deal with the diabetes without considering the bipolar and can't deal with the bipolar without considering the effects on my diabetes. Bleah.

I'd say psytrance music, Bach essences and going to places like Albania or Ukraine (or simly know places like that still exist).

Hummus, preferably homemade. Chickpeas are mood food after all. But it tastes the best in some ungodly hour while watch Al Jazeera.

Existentialism and buddhism. Mix and blend well.

Got to be Tegretol. Love the stuff. Pulled me out of a deep dark depression. Going to suck when I get pregnant though b/c I'll have to come off it.

agree with prozac. 30 mg stopped the voices in my head, first day. didn't know it was possible. Topamax stopped the incessant hunger and the weird seizures - didn't know that was possible either. apparently I needed help!
Thanks for this!

I am glad you now have clear skin! If Wellbutrin works, you do not need Prozac, right?

From what I have heard, Cialis, not Viagra, is what he needs in his situation.

Very surprised Prozac helped with the voices. Good for you! Topamax is an anti-seizure medication originally though, isn't it?

I take Levoxyl, too - it fixes the problem without side effects.

I recently quit all my meds... again.
Funny I was gonna post a similar thread...
to try to get some insight.
I think I was taking the wrong meds or maybe just having other health probs that made me think the meds didnt work.
I used to LOVE Prozac.. it was a lifesaver.
But I changed my mind cuz it made me gain like 40 pounds. (NOt exxagerating)
I have become bulemic in a desperate attempt to lose the weight, and that isnt helping me with my vitamin/mineral deficiencies.
Im tired all the time. So tired that I feel like I am almost dead.

Ive tried so many meds and I cant even remember much of the deatils of how they made things better or worse cuz I have major memory problems.. probably cuz im so severly depressed and anemic at the moment.

I recently quit: seroquel, Prozac, Lunesta and Klonopin.
Now I am only on Lamictal.
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
SOOOO anyway...
best meds?? UM....
no idea.

The first thing to take care of now is anemia. You are tired because of it. You need to eat iron-rich foods. Floradix, available from Amazon, also helps a ton, with the only inconvenience being the need to take it exactly 30 minutes prior to a meal, but your health is worth it.
Thanks for this!

Prozac did absolutely nothing for me. Hated it!
Klonopin really helped put a little cheer in my step, not on it any more.
Lexapro seems to be working rather nicely so far.

Oh, and one more thing: try to eat a vitamin C-rich food, such as strawberries or tomatoes or an orange, alongside an iron-rich food, such as meat. Vitamin C increases iron absorption in the body. If you are not concerned with weight, you can simply always keep OJ in the fridge. If you are concerned with weight, go for a whole orange rather than OJ.
Thanks for this!
