While I'm waiting to see my pdoc again I've been reading a book called the Mood Cure. Have any of you read it or tried any of the supplements?
It says low doses of 5HTP can increase the effectiveness of your antidepressant and that GABA supplements can help calm you. Have you tried any of these?

I didn't want to take Zoloft again, so I tried The 5HTP and GABA instead. (I did not take the Zoloft at all but took GABA and 5HTP together) Taken together was too much for me. So I just took the GABA 750 (1 capsule per day). That actually works well for me so far. The 750 seems high to me but that was the only dosage I could find at the store here. But the 5HTP, I can only take one capsule per week. If I take more than that, too much anxiety. I really don't know what would happen if taking the anti-depressants and the supplements together. I am not brave enough to try that. |

The book I am reading says the 5htp should be started at only 50 mg and the GABA at 100. You have to order it to get doses that low.

I am sure you are correct. Thank you. I do take the 5HTP at 50 mg. When I ran out, I found some 100 mg of 5HTP. It was way too strong. The 50 mg is all I can handle.

That's why I am wanting to see if any of you have tried it first, that way I know what to maybe expect
