Long title.

So for reasons that don't need exploring at this juncture, my pdoc has added Abilify to my Seroquel and Klonopin.

Well first he added Klonopin and when that didn't help my anxiety attacks we tried upping my Seroquel and when that gave me epic brain fog we're trying this.

I'm at 5 mg of Abilify in the morning and I'm starting to see improvements. I'm getting sleepy around 10 pm and taking my other meds then. Last night I actually went to sleep within an hour of taking my meds, this time last week it took me closer to 3. My anxiety feels less.

This morning I woke up around 7:30 and got out of bed around 8, instead of waking up around 12 and getting up around 1. I even tidied my very messy apartment and started vacuuming and then realized that 1 - my vacuum was clogged and 2 it was 8:15 am and vacuuming can be hard throughout the house (my apartment is in a converted Victorian).

But with all this energy and vacuuming first thing in the morning has me worried it's going to lead to hypomania.

I just wanted to share what I hope is some success for me.

Waking up early and vacuuming in the morning is not hypomania. I think you're over stressing, lol.

You just woke up on the right side of the bed!
Thanks for this!

Vacuuming first thing in the morning is not hypomania, as Odee said. Vacuuming at midnight when your neighbors are asleep = hypomania.
Thanks for this!

I'm only worried because I'm not a morning person and I got kind of obsessed over the vacuum cleaner. Then last night I didn't want to go to sleep but I finally did and then I woke up at 6 am.

I'm not a morning person, I can't remember the last time I woke up at 6 am.

Badly. I get irritable and anger, have issues with road rage. My thoughts race, my speech races, I get obsessive about things and paranoid. I don't sleep. I have lots of great ideas but my attention span is about 30 seconds. So I try and do everything at once - watch tv, look at a magazine, read. I'll do things like try and read all the books by a certain author one right after another. I get oversexed.

And sometimes instead of just plain hypomania I get more of a mixed state.

I don't have the highly creative productive hypomanias. Sometimes I get highly creative but I don't have the attention span or patience for the follow through.

Since that is the case you should probably call your pdoc. Maybe you should have a medication to use PRN for occasions like this?

Good Luck

I've felt better the last couple of days actually. I've gotten up earlier than usual and I have more energy but I'm also getting sleepy at night and falling asleep quicker than normal.

Tomorrow I increase to 7.5 mg. If I have a problem I'm supposed to call my pdoc and decrease back down to a lower dosage.

Just having this much energy and getting up early is really different for me.

Hi,

Abilify saved my life, and my Aunt spoke with a pharmacist who said it is cutting edge. Risperdal and the older anti-psych did not work for me at all; I just prefer them bc they are far cheaper. I believe they came out in the 1970's, so you can imagine the improvments.

Peace & Hugs,

TnT

Thanks TnT, that's one reason my pdoc wanted me on it. I see him next week I think so I'll see how it goes with him.

It's just weird feeling good after not feeling good for a long time.

Scratch all that. I had some success but now I'm tired all the time. Last night I went to bed around 9 pm, but then I woke up at 5:30. I've been falling asleep mostly aruond 10:30 but waking up earlier and earlier.

And I'm tired and groggy all day. So I called my pdoc and talked to the nurse and they are supposed to call me back todayw ith some information.

Everybody's different for some vacuuming at anytime of the day can be the start of hypo mania. I take my abilify at night cos apparently it can make you drowsy.

Even at night I was so groggy I could barely function. I had trouble remember my phone number and making lots of typos and stuff. Plus it was making me cranky.
