my mom's just started seeing this guy (who she really likes). in fact, they are always out together, coming back here for drinks, etc etc etc

i've met him too- and he actually seems okay

yesterday we had a rather good conversation about christmas.. and how it didon't work for me- and how isolated i felt and he seemed to understand- and offered to be a listening ear to me and someone who i could come too with problems

anyway.. yesterday out of the blue- my mom came in to my room and said to me... oh, he's helping you, is he?. well... he's going to have to go. and she's told him that he's not allowed to talk to me, or hear about how i'm doing

i think that is so wrong of my parents.... they shut me out and don't want anything to do with me, yet when someone does come along who is actually decent, they tell me i'm not allowed to talk to him?

sheesh- and they are still getting on like awsome

i hate it.. my own parents telling me i can't have help from this guy just because they want to keep me in isolation

I have to ask... this is odd... your mom is jealous of you? Like she is jealous that he was going to help you? That's what it sounds like to me.

my mom's always been a strong believer that i'm too far gone to get help, worthless, and pointless to even waste time on.

so all she's doing is stopping this person from helping me to get her way

Actually I hope that he realizes what she is doing and decides she is not worth his time. I wouldn't want to date someone who was treating their child that way....

i can't right now because of my current physical limitations, and how i'm doing mentally.

You could probably get into housing schemes etc for people with mental health issues??? I know a few people who are in housing schemes and they are doing fab. You would get support from the government etc

I suggest if you're interested in that, then get started on signing up for assistance ASAP. Where I live there is a very long waiting list to get disability housing at all. It takes at least one year to get your application approved, and up to three years to actaully get a home (after the application is approved, so 4 years!!) It's no wonder homelessness is rampant where I live....

And here it is based on when you turn your application in, not need.

i'm so sorry too! it does sound like she's going through her own stuff and taking it out on you. this is not your fault.....saying to ignore it is stupid but you somehow have to find a way to let her issues go.
but, in the meantime you sound pretty cool to me. hang in there. we all know but forget that things get better...even if for just awhile!
