I was on seroquel & seroquel xr up for the best part of 2 years.
I was given a trial pack by a therapist when I was in a manic state and had to continue to take it as all of the antidepressants I have used lexapro lovan luvox cymbalta all gave me terrible insomnia.
seroquel made me eat so much and feel so frustrated aswel, I'll never use it again, no way.
Now Im taking 30mg of cymbalta, although I feel a little manic I feel alot better and am sleeping better than when on seroquel & and sleeping tablets.
Im a bit bummed that the antidepressants ive been prescribed give me insomnia.

Some ADs are stimulating which is logical because they are intended to help resolve a low energy state. From the activating, stimulating properties flows the risk of insomnia. For this reason Prozac should only be taken in the morning.

Hi,
I just took my last dose of seroquel last night. I have been weaning off 300 mg daily for about 6 weeks. I have been on seroquel , various doses, for about 7 yrs.

Seroquel took a great toll on my body physically. I gained about 80 pds. Because of that weight gain I now have extreme high blood pressure.

I have Rapid cycling Bipolar 1. My PDOC put me on Seroquel to control dangerous mixed states. I agree maybe it did help a little with that, but it turned me into a couch dwelling zombie. In my view it did not help that much. I stayed on it because of his strong arm tactics. NOT ANYMORE! NEVER AGAIN!

Before seroquel I was active, creative lover of life. Yes I had bad mood swings but I was able to engage in life.

Seroquel has taken so much from me. Now I start the long battle back from it.
Unfortunatly, I can't take antidepressants they all make me manic and I start to cycle very quickly.

Have you tried Lamictal for bipolar depression ? It doesn't cause mania. I took it and it was working very well until I had a rare allergic reaction to it.

If you have Bipolar disorder, be careful with antidepressants.
