Just a question. Since my pdoc upped my klonopin, it really works but then I start to feel really sleepy. Do they all do this? The cymbalta doesn't help with anxiety on it's own and the .5mg of klons don't work either. But the 1mgs do work but as I said, they make me sleeepy...

I take a lot of seroquel during the day and for the first few weeks it made me very drowsy but that eventually went away. I just started tegretol it makes you very dizzy and drowsy and that is also going away but very time I increase my dosage that side effect comes back. Those are not anti anxiety meds but I know with the klonopin the same thing happened.

Yes, they do for me, High Priestess. I've begun to use the Omega 3 fatty acids for
anxiety--strange that they should help, but they do--and I reserve the Clonazepam
(or Klonopin) for times when I know I might be in a stressful social atmosphere. Otherwise, it's the Omega 3's all the way for calmness and quiet feeling tone without sleepiness.

I have not been able to take klonopin. It completely knocked me out. I have kids to take care of so can't take the time to wait and see if this would wear off over time.

Benzos or anti-anxiety meds are mild tranquilizers, so indeed they have the ability of making you feel sleepy. That is why they are also used as sleep meds. I have the same experience as Genetic with Omegas. Also exercise, even a walk outside.. especially if i tune in and keep aware of only this exact moment. The anxiety truly melts away.

A lot of people have this reaction. When I started my Stavzor, I had to take it at night. I felt "like a zombie" and working was near impossible. Taking it at night made everything ok.

Yes they make me sleepy. I like them for nightime (hmm new word I like it).

Genetic's lemon juice in water might help you a lot. Could give you some energy if the klon make you sleepy. Was also good for my anger probs, I need to start it up again. (So glad you are back Genetic, reminds me of all the good things I learned from you, and to start trying them again)

Are you ok with Vitamin D? I had a huge deficiency and what a difference to fix that problem.

Something good for anxiety is just even like 10 mins of yoga if you can manage it. I'll do a couple sun salutations where ever I find space. It does wonders, but sometimes I can't manage even that.

No, back when I still occasionally took Klonopin it did not make me sleepy. It is a matter of of individual reaction. Also, try cardio instead of Klonopin - I found that it producs better results. On the plus side, cardio produces no dangerous interactions with other drugs you might be taking, or alcohol, and as such is an altogether safer option.

I take 1 mg of klonopin at night for sleep and .5 mg on weekdays to deal with work stress-I love my job, but there is a lot of it! As long as I take the klonopin in the am, I am okay. I feel good, and not sleepy. I also take vitamin d and a daily vitamin in the morning along with other meds. If I wait until later in the day, noon or after, the klonopin zaps me. I sleep as soon as I get home. It may be that the vitamins, as well as wellbutrin, help with my energy level during the day.
