There is a new BP drug (potentially) on the horizon:
http://www.reuters.com/article/2013/...9C818M20130108 And the patent for it expired, so it should be cheap I would guess? It sounds like it could replace Lithium as it doesn't have the toxicity or side effects that Lithium does, but does the same thing as Lithium. ![]()

I think they would re-patent the medication if its used for bipolar disorder.
"If the drug could be "repurposed" and licensed for the treatment of bipolar disorder," It wouldn't be cheap. :<

I agree unless it was meant for bp the whole time. Then I think it could be cheap but yes if it's repurposed then it could be re patented and not cheap at all. It would be nice though to not have to get blood work once a month.

Clint, do you get bloodwork done that frequently? I think mine is once or twice a year.

Wow I get mine once a month or sometimes once every two months
