Hyper Sexuality and Promiscuity

What are the differences between? I'm a lil confused. I know promiscuity is commom in bipolar but what about hyper sexuality. How did or do you deal with it. Thanks for any info

First of all, the whole area is incredibly fishy. Do not expect neat definitions. But in general, you can be hypersexual with one and the same person, while for promiscuity you need a variety of people. Say, I would have sex thrice a day with my soon to be second husband - that is considered hypersexuality but not promiscuity. If someone has infrequent but erratic sex with a wide variety of people, that would be promiscuity without hypersexuality.

That's what I kind of figured... I seem to struggle with both

Hypersexuality in general is fine as long as you can still carry on job or school duties or housework or whatever your daytime responsibilities are. Promiscuity increases exposure to the diseases, though this risk can be mitigated by safer sex practices.

For me I've noticed that when I'm manic I become very hyper sexual and often leads to promiscuity.

That is a typical bipolar response to being manic.

Danced my bootie off last night in awesome high heals, my man friend was almost half my height, mid 20's, cute nerdy glasses -- kinkayy haha. Good times. And I'm not regretting it cuz he was safe, sweet not a stranger, very adoring of me, it was so fun. I know I've done unsafe sexual stuff before when hypo, so I'm aware must be safe. It's a fine line.

I agree with about the awesome feeling after a deep depression.

I mean during depression and most other times I feel so horrible about myself. Nobody likes me and blab blab but when I have that feeling that blueinnana said I feel so awesome about myself its unreal

How does one handle this?

Both of them I struggle more with the feelings.afterwards though

BpinOk I personally think u should enjoy it and sex is so fun I just love it! Got to be careful so that u don't cheat if ur married or be with risky person for disease or someone abusive. I made a lot of mistakes, the worst was a man who was way too rough and left bruises on me. I felt like a victim of myself, cuz i put myself in that situation when i knew better, that sucked.

I'm hyper sexual right now on a hypo.

I'm aware of the dangers but haven't been in the past. I can control my impulses these days about thinking back to the horrible experiences I've endured and don't want that again. So masturbation is my vice when I'm like this lol. Can't hurt myself or anyone else xx

Nope to the bold part. Let us see what the web says: "indulging in promiscuous (casual and indiscriminate) sexual relations." from Princeton dictionary. So the criterion is not the number of partners but the lack of judgment, hence the word "indiscriminate" to describe it.
