Figured I do another one of these to let ya all know the recent developments with everything I got goin on.

My drug and alcohol assessment went well. I got assigned to 1 on 1 counseling sessions instead of the group classes that are normally assigned. Telling the truth paid off in that I was already considering seeking counseling for my alcohol and bp related issues.

My preliminary hearing for my DUI has been pushed back clear to February 25th. Nice not having to deal with it right now, but I rather have it all over and done with. Or at least know what is going to happen to me. The not knowing is a killer.

The new gf I and are really hitting it off well. Both of us are very excited to be back in a committed realtionship. Our feelings on nearly everything relationship related are mutual. Not to mention she's a few years younger that I and studying to be a nurse, so she'll be able to help me when I'm senile and crippled. lol

She is also accepting of my condition and I am helping her along with the process of seeking help for her terrible anxiety issues. She was going to just see her family doc, but I recommended a psych clinic instead. She went last week for her initial assessment and goes this week to begin psychotherapy/counseling. I printed out the fact sheet for GAD on here and gave it to her with the link for this website. She really appreciated it.

The hardships here at work have turned out to be a blessing in disguise. A woman in accounting quit and the dayshift warehouse tech was pulled back into the accounting department, leaving us 2 men down in the warehouse. Last week, my boss got approval to hire a temp in the warehouse. I had previously recommended my roommate for the position if it became available. Well everything worked out, and after training this weekend, he started work today as the new temp dayshift warehouse tech. This is his first full time employment since he was forced to resign his old postion at a different mine in July 2012.

Feels amazing to repay the favor he did me in getting me a job at his then place of emplyment when my old job was unable to keep me over the winter back in 2010.

Forgot to mention, I had an extremely sucessful deer season, which came to a close Saturday the 12th.

I like to call it, Dream Season 12-13: The Greene County Grand Slam

4 Seasons (Archery, Muzzleloader, Rifle, Flintlock) Oct-Jan
4 Weapons (Bow, In-line Muzzleloader, 30.06 Rifle, Flintlock Muzzleloading Rifle)
5 Whitetail Deer on the Ground!

And all of these were killed on the property my adoptive family farms, and within 2 minutes of my bedroom!

Not to mention I picked up a roadkill on the way home this morning and worked it up for one of my co-workers who wasnt able to hunt this year.

Sounds like many things are dropping into place. Enjoy ! I think it's great that you have helped your Lady friend find some much needed help. She sounds like a keeper

My husband and I had a great deer season also, got 6 ! I just want help hanging them up, Then I am good to go and will have it skinned and all meat removed in less than 20 mins. My husband is in awe LOL . We have all the hides curing.. atm

Yeah my husband eats Venison and we always share with his friend as they have an awful time affording food.

What is your method of curing hides? I've tried several in the past with limited sucess.

loads/buckefuls of salt .. Everylast bit of stuff needs scraped off the hide. Salt salt salt the hide. I always trim it all around so no excess edges. every 3 days shake off the salt and scrape the hide , you have to be careful to not scrap a hole in it. I use this half moon shape scraping tool.

Roll it up tight for a day. then unroll , I rubbed it tightly over a saw horse in all directions. Again salt it alot ! like 2-3 things of salt ( thank god they are cheap LOL)
Keep repeating process. Depends in the weather.. but usually takes me about a month of this until I am satisfied its supple enough.

Tons work to be honest, But I think its worth it.

I'm so impressed by your accomplishments and growth, your self-care! I'm happy for you--for what this is bringing you.
I will be glad with you when the DUI hanging over you is resolved ... the extra time, though, may allow you to benefit from the one-on-one counseling sessions for alcohol and bp related issues. DUI charges may be reduced because of your voluntary involvement in a rehab program. The relationship sounds promising, weight loss healthy, & the deer season beneficial. Starting a good year! Update 1/14
