I don't know why i bother with it. not like i can be honest on it. so i never post anything. sometimes i message people, but that's really it. sometimes I wish that my wife would come across this forum and recognize my name just so she could see what this is like for me. she has no idea. never has. ugh... I hate facebook

No one knows on facebook. Well, just a few select people. And I don't dare talk about it cause I think it scares them.

I find it amazing that the word bipolar comes out and people envision you running across the room at them with a knife and screaming like a banshee. I wish people would just get more educated so that there really could be wrap around support systems to help make things better when the world is at it's darkest

I be honest on Facebook but I don't share on Facebook very much. Like, when I was in the hospital I shared that I was there, but I didn't go on to lament my situation and wonder loudly where all my aunts and cousins were, why weren't they visiting me when I could be dying? I mostly just post links to funny things that people rarely respond to.

Sometimes I wonder if they just don't care (which is likely) or if those folks that never shut up on facebook wash away everyone else's posts so they get missed. (which is likely.) I only have 20 friends and they are all my family. But, who knows, my family members might be those crazy people with 300 friends...

Well, I make sure no one is around when I do it...

About FB, it's a trip.

I don't really want to here about this guy's colonoscopy :/ But I read it anyway, and apparantly they aren't as bad as you'd think... And I'm sick of seeing how well the old friends' kids are doing and how they graduated high school and have new cars, while mine have attempted sui 3 times, and been hospitalized 10 times, and stolen or wrecked my cars more than once.

But ... I like to try to look on the bright side, and ~sorry~ to anyone who this may offend (forgive me I have BP :P ), but this pic I saw from an ex - school teacher in Alaska makes FB all worth it:

Dan, do you have a Restless leg syndrome? On its own or perhaps as an AP side effect?

I signed up in Nov. In order to talk to my son. And acquired some friends. I never read anyone's updates but I love FB's ability to connect people. I have this gf whom I have known since we both we four. We used to be neighbors. She lives in Chicago. Her phone number was in my old Palm Treo phone. Before I moved to Android and keeping every single little thing in the cloud. I do not have a charger for that old Palm. So I could not retrieve her phone number. and on the web I could just see the real estate records which might have indicated her current mailing address but might have been obsolete and at any rate I was too lazy to send snail mail.

She sent me a FB invite! I checked and she only registered for FB in January. So just less than two weeks ago.

We used to be very close and shared all the childhood games.

I do not know how I will handle her updates because she was so damn successful in the conventional sense - she had a short first marriage without children and in the second marriage, everything was picture-perfect - 2 sons, 1 daughter, a huge house in Chicago suburbs, Polish housecleaners (Chicago is the #2 Polish city in the world, population-wise) who are supposed to be the best, and the only complaint about her CPA husband was that he does not help out enough during the tax season!

You two are married, you have to face the music sometime! You know? Just let it all out! You have 50 50 chance for it to go good or bad. Either way, you get it off your chest!

Facebook... My husband just closed out his. He complained no one talked to him, so why bother. I like it, I see funny pictures, interesting facts etc. Most of the friends are back in the island and I have no friends where I live, so there's only 2 ppl from work. I used to be super open about everything back in mids 2000 but I learned to not share as much. Only pic so family can be updated and feel close to my kids. There's a lot of haters out there and they get jealous and send bad vibes, so I do recommend y'all to be reserved.

I was in the second test group that got to use it when they first opened it to college. I used to post so much more on it for the public viewing... But I then tapered down over the last few years. I am more likely to share stupid pictures and click far to many like buttons.

I quit facebook. I got manic on it last fall and it was not good. Decided it was best for me to stay off!
Also I don't really care too much about "their" fantastic lives and "adorable" photos. I feel like a lot of people on there are "ego-maniacs".
I probably sound biitchy right now and I kinda am lol.

Ahhh yes, FB's "People You May Know"!!

I will never forget when FB thought I might know the woman my husband left me for!! We weren't from the same high school or town. Although I did know people that knew her, they weren't on FB!! So how FB made that connection, I will never know!!

Have a nice day!
Love,
l

Well... here's an awesome status from a funny German lady I know on FB:

So sad...Please, put this on your status if you have dated, known, work with or are related to, married to (or divorced from) or have children to, someone who suffers from being a ****ing idiot. We all need to understand, being a ****ing idiot is real and must be taken seriously. You could be sitting next to a ****ing idiot right now. There is still no known cure for being a ****ing idiot, and sympathy does not help. Sometimes a piece of 2x4 to the back of the head helps, but not a lot. But we can raise awareness! 53% won't re-post this because they don't know how to copy and paste.
Thanks for this!
