hey guys.

so what do you guys think:

i don't know how many of you know, but i signed up to be a community liaison for this place quite a while ago.. and got the spot

anyway... i feel i've not really given it my full attention.. looking at all those threads i need to reply too just makes me so un motivated- and i've not been doing well, both mentally and physical.. and for the last week (apart from a few posts on here) i've been in bed, watching back to back haven- i mean... i've not even been motivated to reach my 10 posts a day (it's always been my thing) 10 posts on here a day

but i have days where i take it really seriously (mannic, or just feeling good) and i reply to it all and try my best to be supportive.

but given how i've been feeling this week, i'm not sure what to do.

please anser the pole and help me

Oh Shattered... you must be feeling like since you have this spot as liason.... that you have to be the strong one despite your own troubles.

I stand by my vote. Just do the best you can, when you can, and NEVER EVER feel bad about asking for help and getting what you need FIRST! Take care of you first, and then worry about welcoming people. and dont' stress. welcome people when you can and let it go when you need time for you. It's not meant to be a stressor. It's ok.
Thanks for this!

thanks..

it's not stressfull as such, but when you're on the verge of suicide and you feel empty and have no emotion, it does seem like i'm thinking to myself... well why bother signig up for this community liaison thing?

is it really essential

but i do like it.. only because i like the status by my name is all

Are you taking the proper steps to keep yourself safe right now? What are you doing about your idealizations?
Thanks for this!

I don't know, I think the higher powers around here realize we have mental illnesses and we're not always running at the same speeds mentally and emotionally. Is there like a head moderator you can talk to about it?

Aw sweetie! Keep the spot, PC needs more people to do it. Pegasus said (in a community feedback forum post I think) that DocJohn would probably be happy to hear from anyone willing to help with it. It doesn't mean you have to take on the world or be perfect all the time, just keep an eye out for unread posts and respond if you can. It's something we already do, so keep the cute title under your name. You're just insecure right now and that's ok! We're freaking bipolar by golley!!! When we're up, we rock. And when we're down, we get sad and insecure and questioning our worth about everything. I think you're fab, keep up the good work!
Thanks for this!

I'm a moderator at one forum and a site guide for another, and there is always understanding when we're unable to carry out our duties for a time because of illness, putting in a lot of work hours, personal concerns etc. I'm sure the powers that be here @ PC would be even more understanding; after all, we're ALL mentally interesting!

I vote for staying on and doing what you can. Someday you'll be the one who's in good shape while a fellow community liaison is struggling, and you'll make up for lost time.

Do what you can.. certainly don't let it overwhelm you. If you enjoy it... continue. If it becomes a Chore then just back off and give it some time.
