Well this past weekend was the big one: taking another girl out for her 18th birthday and all that.

Of course foolish, risk taking me didn't heed any of y'alls advice and went through with my original plan.

Somehow, it did not backfire in my face. The birthday girl and I had a good time, but not too good of a time. Little if any sexual tension throughout the night. And I felt good showing her a good time for her b-day instead of her typical Saturday night of sitting at home watching TV.

My girlfriend was less than thrilled with me, but was more than relieved when I came to spend the rest of the weekend with her directly after taking the b-day girl home.

We went to the zoo on Sunday (I didn't know the zoo was open in February either) and had a lovely time.

When we got home, I started asking her questions like if she could accept my apology for what I made her go through, accept me for who I am, all my faults and weakness, and if she could accept a promise that she would be my one and only and I'd never do anything so foolish again. She said she could accept those things, and then accepted the promise ring I surprised her with.

So: Very stupid and risky and selfish on my part: YES
Everything worked out in the end: YES
Worth the risk and the emotional strain on gf: NO
Learn my lesson: I HOPE

No problems so far have come from the roomate's fiance's ex-husband being out of prison. Hope it stays that way.

Gf got prescribed Paxil today to help treat her extreme anxiety but is anxious about taking it. I gave her all the info off this site and posted another thread asking for all y'alls experience with the drug, as I have never taken an anti-depressent type drug. I hope it works for her

Hope everyone is doing well out there. Thanks again for all your help and guidence.

Best wishes and good luck to all in all that you are going through.

Ironic to be anxious about a drug that takes away anxiety.

I hope she does well on it. Remember that we're bipolar and react differently.

Glad things went well for you. I didn't read the previous thread so, just glad it worked out in the end.

I've never been on Paxil, either. But, I have GAD and have never taken anything for it at all. I get so nervous it makes me physically sick. And, I get panic attacks, too. Despite all of that, I have no desire to seek help for my anxiety, and thinking about taking medicine for it also makes me nervous! (Isn't that funny....)

I've read that us folks with high anxiety were essential to tribal survival back in the caveman world. Us hyper alert people get nervous about every little thing and therefore alert the others. So just in case any saber tooth tigers come along we're all pretty safe here.
